Your mileage will be more affected by the box and gearing than bigger tires at this point- although taller tires will reduce gearing.

Crazy, this exact thought crossed my mind today. The 255s will fit in the rear easily. In the front is where it's tight. I'm going to lift it 2" on all 4 corners. i was considering doing just 235s in the front for these reasons though there's a chance the 255s might fit in the front with the lift perhaps. I think I'll stick with the stock steel 16" wheels. There are also tons of them used with decent 235 tires used in the junk yard for 1 or 2 spares. That would help keep the nose down too perhaps...

slightly updated photos and a little summary of our new van / box truck posted here:

http://andreshoumatoff.smugmug.com/C...uty-E-350-Van/

It books for $9K and we got it for $5600 with a completely new top end. I need to do the EGR delete. They are also detuned in the vans so I can get it chipped if I want for a lot more power, though it's pretty good already. It definitetely has 4.10s in the rear so I need to do the math on the gearing and do and estimate whether we think mileage might increase or not with bigger tires in the rear, or all the way around...

I picked up some massive windows and camper doors yesterday to hopefully start working on it this weekend...

You absolutely stole that van. I watched the auction. It"s interesting that it has the 03 and up mirrors and seats.
Congrats!

Oh yea. I'm sourcing axles as we speak.

I know. I couldn't believe it. I called the guy to arrange pickup and he said the same thing. He also said they have a sister van to that one with 600k on the clock. So I guess they have been taking care of them.

OK, I never looked at the last Van that I posted, it did seem like a good deal, but I had reservations about it as it lived on the north Oregon Coast.

Then today I see this..............................

I just need to stay away from this thread and craigslist

I'm looking to transform my conversion van with useless ceiling lights into something similar to THIS , just more reliable

thanks,

Any decent hot rod shop can do the Ujoint kit

I know what I had to pay to get a clean, decently appointed 05 6.0 XLT passenger van that didn't have a zillion miles on it. For 1000 bucks I will take 1 to have as a spare, when can I come get it?
