I love this picture but kind of feel like I exploited the lyoung federali when I took this one and asked him to pose.
There was this big soccer game going on right behind me at the time. All the officers and the local civilians. I think they took someone's cousin and put him into these duds to cover a shift while the others played to win.

It says Viva La Baja to me.

On my way to Gonzaga Bay with my two wheeler. You can see that the hauler is in good shape here. Well it didn't come back like that. It's all bent now. Baja gives and Baja takes.

Stuck in sand twice and didn't take much to get out both times, thanks to the last time when a V6 came up and offerred to tow me out.

This is Steve with his retired service van, nicknamed "The Pumpkin". He dosen't really like the nickname, that's why we all use it.

The story in this pic is, he and I went to the NHRA Nationals in Indy. I took my SR-500 and he his MZ 125 Supermotard. On the way home we spotted some bikes lined up for sale. Well Steve bought the green FJ-600 and I started out riding it. When I stopped for a break, gas was running out several overflow tubes. We banged around on the carbs but gas kept coming.
So we unloaded my SR and put the FJ in the Pumpkin and I rode home. I like the SR in 200 mile chunks, that ride was about 350 and my ass lasted the 200. The rest sucked.

Maybe I need a van.

I've got an '03 and you can fit the Strom, plus an SV650 along with a weeks worth of camping and riding gear.
Though the side stand down like that throws me.
Is that a good idea?

No, it's not.
too much load on it if the bike is strapped down.

Being strapped down will let the suspension take any bumps, what nots...

I know, I was seeing if I was the only one who knows this. I have seen several bike strapped that were strapped that way endoing down the highway. A friend of mine (new rider) tried this with his EXC, runied the stand and dumped the bike.

Anyways this is a van thread, don't want to highjack.

I am newer to vans and will likely always haul with one from now on.

Love what I am seeing, especially the Quigleys.
Keep 'em comin.

Mr. Fisherman, "Alleged Rooster", thanks for the headsup. It has been cleared by Federali Central Headquarters as approved for viewing as long as I stated that this was a Sunday afternoon and the Feds had authorization to take the afternoon off.

Great thread. Makes me miss my old vans. Makes me want to live in a van too!

My first two vehicles were vans. The first, an 82 Vanagon with an aftermarket camper pop top on it. Rebuilt the engine with my dad when it went not long after buying it. That van in general was a piece of crap.

Second van was an 84 Chevy Beauville. 1-ton, 350 v-8, 12 passenger van. It was so clean. Tinted windows. I ran it with the first row bench seat, kept the other two out, there was so much room in that thing. I could store my 10' longboard in it. Rebuilt the engine too with my dad, that truck rocked. Bought some chrome wheels, got lots of looks, it was straight. Sold it to finance a trip to Australia. A guy in a wheelchair bought it, he was a van guy and had some hand controls to mount to it.

I've got some pics but they are all prints. Any suggestions where to scan them? I'd like to share the pics of the Beauville, I think you'd like it.

Now living in Southern Arizona, the Border Patrol has some big 4x4 vans. Did a quick google search but couldn't find images, I'll try to snap some pics to post them up too. Those vans always inspire me.
