So I'm back to looking for a van. I know that I need something "practical" but you can tell that I lust for the 70's/80's customs. There's been one for sale near home that has been calling for me, so I had to stop by today and confirm my suspicions; yep, way more work than I want to tackle. But damn it's cool.

With the advancement in wrapping you can have a pretty cool van without the custom paint job. And, you could change it whenever you wanted.

This one is a good example.

You can also perforate the wrap, so you can see out of the windows. But if it's rainy the drops obscure everything.

Also, they fade after a few years. We had two logos on these rear windows up until last year, now you can barely see them.

Unfortunately, I think custom paint jobs and murals are a dying art.

I feel your pain. When I was first looking for a van, I found this badass looking old Chevy (from pictures anyway). Had a cool top on it, custom windows in back, etc. When I got there, you could see rust around every window on the van, it would pretty much need to be gutted due to mildew smell inside, etc. It was a LOT more work than I had time or space to perform.

If I got a van, It would have to be one of these with a 911 turbo stuffed in the back.

That's a Bus.

I love 'em, and I've owned several busses over the year, but I'm leaning toward big towing capacity now. 7.3 Turbo Diesel. Hope to have something soon.
