I spent about nine months traveling around Europe with my parents, brother and aunt in a VW van when I was 8. I'll try to find a picture or two. It was pale green with "Church of Christ" in big white letters on both sides which, if you knew my family, is absolutely hilarious.

They are around.. I bought my 2001 7.3 turbo diesel Quigley 4x4 almost 2 years ago in LA, after a six month nationwide search. I was looking at vans all around, planning on flying and driving home, then I found one only 400 miles from me. Rode my Honda down, cut the deal, through the bike in the back, and drove home.

Have you checked out the Yahoo 4x4 Van Owner's list? and Thunder's Garage? Other than that, check Craig's list and ebay religiously. They are out there, but tend to sell quick..

I suppose I'll to go take a pic of my van out back

1986 One Ton Chevy with turbo 400 behind a 350

It hasn't been on the road for about five years I would guess

Although I did drive it on our local toll road a few times with no tag

I figure that's the best way to keep it goin'

70 MPH

The Team Double Barrel Racing van was pretty sweet, except it handled like a donkey cart at triple digits.

I was given the keys to Mom's car, $200 cash and permission to take an extra week off of school before the week we got off for Spring Break. We drove from Upstate NY to Daytona Beach, FL. There were always quite a few of those customized vans on the beach - remember, you can drive on DB.

Anywhoo, every night on the local news they would show pictures of people who owned these beautiful rolling works of art at the beach, going into the Atlantic with a pail and getting water to wash the road grime off of their pretty vans.

The reporters loved to say things like:
"Well Julie, my money says his mural is completely faded out by the time he exits Georgia heading north. Ah, those crazy yankees." This was always followed by a big .
