http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=243331 KTMMAD has a pic of his IMS 7 til I get a good one of my own. He states it sits lower, but I don't know how or where.
I've never seen one of the IMS tanks in person so I'm not sure if the Tanker Brace would fit up with it or not. I'd be interested in finding out if it would though.

Thanks,

Hodakaguy

We'll see.

Selling/Buying a house right now, so the finances are under strict Boss control. But, when that frees up (hopefully soon) I'll be buying one as a test bed for the IMS. Then you can add that tank model to your "promotional literature".

Great piece of work though.

Thanks
Ken

Guinea "Pig" for IMS 7.0 gal tank

Well,
The order is placed, and we shall soon see how the IMS monster is tamed by the Tanker Brace.

Thanks to Hodakaguy for a cool piece of kit.

The brace that came with the Safari tank for my 950SE was a pice of white metal junk and didn't even come close to fitting. I bent here and straightened there and got it on but if I ever dump the bike near the brace it'll just fold up.

Add the IMS 7.0 to the Tanker Brace Fitment Chart!

Hodakaguy,
As stated before with all other tanks, install was a breeze!
I may be a terrible rider, but I'm almost as bad as a mechanic.

I had a smoky experience with my IMS recently which made me pull the trigger on the Tanker. Although it may look like an actual hole, it is not. More of a blister or canker sore (for the promiscuous in the group)

Note where the previous owner had "cleaned" the header. Although the angle of the photo doesn't show it, there's an easy inch or more of space now between the header and tank, and I can't move the tank back and forth as I could previously. NICE!! The tanker "Spread My Wings"!

Doesn't it look like the tank was designed to hit the header? Note the TWO burn spots matching each pipe.

Standard angle of the tanker, but this installed on the IMS

I left the "pucks" that originally were on the IMS as part of the install for a bit of added security.

Fantastic product obviously developed by someone who has actually experienced the problems of these massive tanks. Not designed for bling, but for utility, and for a very niche market. Very stout, and very well made.

From a service standpoint, I assume that Hodakaguy isn't supporting himself making these gizmos; but response time and delivery outclass most operations that sell and ship stuff as a business. Thanks for doing this for us.

Hey, just got my brace today and must say it is a well made piece. I don't doubt I could stand on one end and not bend it.

I won't install this until I gather the necessary hardware required to install the tank but in the meantime I will use it to split wood or as a lever to move the world!

Thanks Hodakaguy!

Tanker brace highway pegs

Hodaka Guy,

Here's a mod to your well designed and built tanker brace. I added a steel tube and drop down steel tabs to mount highway pegs. This really helped relieve leg fatigue on a 6,000 mile California to trip Alaska. The added bar was welded to your brace. The pegs fold up in front of the tank. I dropped the bike a few times and never had a problem.

Cheers, Tom

Mr Hodaka,

Have any of these guys ready to go?
