On Xbox, it's the "X" button to rehholster your weapon. hold it down until your weapon is holstered.

"B" button brings up the PIP boy, but holding it down activates your PIP-BOY light- useful for avoiding bear traps. Or you could simply set them off with your gimp foot- it's a "special" technique I seem to have perfected.

Okay- so far, here's my strategy:

I like to build up my strength, so I can cary more.
I focused on my small guns and repair skills.
I've worked on lockpick skills, but neglected the science skill.
I'm working on the comano skill now- in short, I like to snipe.

Lincoln's Repeater is the shiznit.

This game is way worth the scratch- and the instant travel rules.

If you have multiple weapons, you can "repair" some to reduce what you're carrying.

Everything can be sold- so when in doubt, load up- but keep an eye on "value".

There are a load of burned books, etc.- when I'm in between, I'll grab a bunch to sell if nothing else is available.

Also- what seems like "junk" might be valuable later as you build weapons.

Just dump enough of that crap at the entrance to the vault (where it's easy to find) so that you are unencumbered. You can fast travel back and pick it up later.

I will drop an item, see how I move. I do that until I can move fast again.

I somehow know that special technique... first, you run too late when walking through mines, then "find" some bear traps and finally the trap wire to get a hit with a dead corpse. Ruined my Tesla Suit.

Places like Rivet City and Megaton are quiet after a while, it will be safe to go back there.

And I'd love to find a pressure cooker!!! Too many rail nails.

I grabbed Grand Theft Auto Chinatown for the DS yesterday. man it is a hoot!

I am balls deep in the elder scrolls right now. I can't get enough of it! I really hate that I got turned into a vampire though. I have spent more time trying to get un-undead than I have hours into Farcry 2 so far.

I am a total winter gamer though. Now it's almost time to ride.

One thing about rpg's; "a place for your stuff" should be the second priority when you're working on quests.

Your own house is the only reliable place to keep extra stuff. 1 weapons cabinet, 1 armor cabinet and one "junk" cabinet,

On a geeky sidenote: I went to visit Bittercup in Bigtown to see what she'd give me. A raider was in the compound and cut her head off.

I was so upset I went back a couple of saves...

somehow the raider killing Flash didn't bother me quite so much.

I game on PCs almost exclusively. When Morrowind: Oblivion came out a few years ago I got so sick of the game crashing all the time I upgraded my video card. Now FO3 keeps crashing switching in and out of V.A.T.S. so it looks like I'm going to have to sell some stuff to upgrade the video card again.

150 will get you a radeon 4850 512meg. runs FA3 quite well for me. GTA4 is a stretch
