I really liked how they adopted the mod community, too. So many variations to that game...

To answer your question, its all about the team work... One team works against the other team and hilarity follows.

Take a look on youtube for the TF2 videos of Meet the heavy, spy, demoman, soldier, scout, doctor and sandvich. Those are the official valve videos for the game, very well done.

I paid full retail when the game came out and it was worth every penny. Now that its free you would have to be foolish to not pick it up.
I got it vie the orange box. Never really liked it. Bit too twitch for me.

I think thats because they havent forgotten their roots. It all started for Valve with Half life, look how many mods there were back in the day... Now most of the good ones are retail games from Counter Strike, Day of Defeat, TF2, Left 4 Dead... they are all after all mods of Half Life Source.

I think it's also because they haven't been tempted to go to the console. They don't make console games, they make PC games then port them to console. This is what has killed off the other mod friendly games. Why should they allow others to add mods when they could just sell them to you.

I've noticed Valve has started to offer their games in Mac as well as PC, too. Then when a game gets old they sometimes offer it for free. Like Portal. I played CS back in the day but then didn't come back till L4D. Love L4D and Portal.

For any fans of 8 bit games listen to this:

It's from a warp zone in super meat boy and has been stuck in my head....just an amazing example of 8-bit music.

Hopefully, the guy I displaced from 1st place in this DiRT 3 track last night doesn't react as drastically as that. I think I might if I were ever nudged out so quickly again!

GTA IV bored me to death.

So I traded it in for a used copy of GT5.

This game is a God send.

I picked up the new Duke Nukem recently. I am underwhelmed. It is like the original but with 57 percent of the fun removed.

I rented it from a redbox and played it.....I feel like it was $4 decently spent but I would have been pissed if I had bought it for $60 like I originally planned. It was a complete let down

Meanwhile I've been wasting my time on WOW, now that they let you get to lvl20 with a free account any number of characters without time limitations...

I already have one mage at 20 and a rogue at 17...

I don't see me signing up for a full account, good enough to fool around as it is...

I traded in some games for it, and I'll be trading in Duke as soon as I can decide in a suitable substitute. Can anyone recommend a a fun shooter?

The SpongeBob game I picked up for my kid is better than Duke - no joke.

I used to have a sponge bob game for PS2 stolen from a brother in law.

Couldn't put the controller down.

You'd better set aside a few hours for Kerbal Space Program. It's got orbital mechanics, physics, and hilarity all rolled into one package. It's in beta right now, but there's already a mod community going.

I can't remember the last time I laughed at a game so hard.

Just one fine example of what's possible. The soundtrack really makes this clip.
