Well my 1 year old X-box just died tonight.

Three rings of red on the front

But first my 1080i went out, screen got static on it, and then my 720P went out , filled with static, now the system runs for 2 mins and then freeze's and with a restart it goes to rings of death....

Can't microsoft do anything right? POS software and POS hardware....

Microsoft has never really understood hardware design. Their mice and keyboards are okay because it's hard to fuck up a mouse or keyboard and the manufacturer knows what they're doing.

For the Xbox, Microsoft says "we need blah blah blah in this box, with this capability, with every non-standard part you can squeeze in so that the kiddies won't go modding our hardware."

QA engineer at the factory says "This won't work for long."

VP of Sales says "build it anyway, that's the customer spec."

So, going through with my second character, I found out that Big Town is not doomed to extinction. There's a speech thread that lets you give them shooting lessons; once you do that everyone manages to stay alive between visits.

And Ripley is still getting stuff from Bittercup.

I fixed a Sentry Bot for them last time I was there but I haven't been back to check up on them. Maybe I should go find out how they are doing.

After many tears and hours of pulling my hair out I finally was able to connect to XboxLive.

I had to update the dashboard and was able to download The Pitt.

For some reason all the previous game saves are no longer available to load, but they can still be seen at the system level on the hard drive through the dashboard.

Has anyone had this problem? Are we stuck restarting the game?

Also, do you access The Pitt through the main game as a map location or something like that?

I think I'm down to about 6 or 8 now.

my time varies... sometimes i'll play 20 hours over 3 days.. and then sometimes .. none.

I play a lot when the weather is crappy and I have no motivation to do anything else.

Way too many for comfort. In a bad week I can easily go over 30 hours or more.

Can't really go riding cuz I'm doing the Mr. Mom thing after 2pm everyday.
