New guy here. I have an '09 KLR 650 with 500 miles on it and am interested in some local rides, weather and time permitting. On Monday, I went down Wawawaii Canyon, then along the Snake River, up Steptoe Canyon and back to Pullman. Later that day I rode to Palouse, then down the north fork of the Palouse River to Colfax and up the south fork of the Palouse River and around the west end of Kamiak Butte while trying to avoid the rain clouds. I'm looking forward to better weather.

Welcome! The palouse riders are coming out of the woodwork...

I'd love to go for a ride sometime soon, but I'm on daddy daycare detail all this weekend. But don't let me stop you!

Thumb Welcome sideboiler

Well if you are up for a ride sideboiler, let me know. I think that this is the worst spring break ever. My wife is out of town for some dance classes and I have all this time on my hands to go riding but the weather has just been uncooperative. It just makes me sick. Excuse me while I throw up.............................................. Anyway, if you are up for a ride anytime this week or this weekend, let me know.

Pick me.

I will put my name in the pot. I am still a local (again). I actually live in Palouse now, just moved over from Moscow in December.

I have a KTM for my go anywhere bike and a GSX for the street. More than williing to go riding whenever/where ever.

I have only gone about 300 miles so far this year though. It is still early and I can't wait for the weather to get better.

You guys should ride up to Rockford and have lunch at Fred Necks. I could ride down on Robins 250 Ninja and meet you.

Question When?

When would you like to meet and where is Fred Necks? Depending on what time you want to meet, I think I can do it.

Take the CDA Casino exit off of hwy 95. Left at the stop sign and go 10 miles. When you get into Rockford, go left at the stop sign (there's only one) an its 1 block up on your right. You can't miss it.
You pick the day. I still have 10 more days off ( been off since nov 1st) til we open our shop back up. Oh, and bring that lazy bum Mr Vintage along with you.

Let go riding now!

It is 3:15 as I right this and looking out the window it looks sunnier than it has been all week. I am thinking of heading in the direction of Avery for a ride and will be leaving around 4 or 4:15. I have to finish some chores and shower really quick. If anyone wants to go, let me know. I will check this again just before I leave. We can meet at Rosaurs in Moscow. I hope someone available reads this in time because some company would be nice, too.

4:14 PM - Shoot! No takers. I'll have to relate to you how awesome it was when I am done.

Are you staying in Avery for the night? Cuz it will be dark when you get there.

Didn't quite make it

I only made it a little over half way. I went a little past St. Maries and it started to rain. I wasn't really prepared for wet weather so I went back to St. Maries and rode around looking at the town for about 20 minutes. It was actually fairly warm there (55 according to the thermometer on the bike) even though it was overcast. From Potlatch I took 95 and rode down the White Pine scenic byway and White Pine Drive. That was where it got really cold. The roads were clean but were plenty wet in some places because of all the snow melt. All in all it was a fun ride but I think I will wait for a nice sunny day before I try to make it back up to Avery. Ms. Ladybug told me where a tunnel is up there that I saw on one of her threads and I would like to go up and see it. I LIKE RIDING THROUGH TUNNELS. I would post pictures if I had taken some, but I didn't. I am not much of a picture taker when I am riding alone unless there is something that actually needs to be captured.

Tonight

Just got off the bike a few minutes ago. Rode home from work in Pullman. About like most summer nights in Pullman, so tomorrow should be warm!

You guys should have some great riding this weekend. I have finally rounded up help to replace an engine so my weekend is set.

Have fun.

Who?

Avery would be cool! I also keep dreaming of a ride to Enterprise / Joseph. I need to get my big bike back together...

Hey Spaniard, if you are into old train tunnels I can direct you to Sorrento outside Plummer, but it's a challenging thing to ride through. It looked pretty well snowed in too when I drove by this weekend. Check out this:

Talking Tunnels

That looks like an awesome ride Mr. Vintage. If you head up that way again you should let me know. I do love tunnels and would love to make some rides out to some. Also, it funny that you mention the ride to Enterprise because I was just looking at a map of Hells Canyon. So if you want to plan a ride for Enterprise you can probably count me in for that, too. I say probably because it depends on what kind of work load I have with school that weekend, unless it is during the summer sometime.
