It was good to see you again MV. Did you make it to the marina for any of the free food?
Missed you on sunday. I took off early to take my GF out to ride her bike for the first time.

Hey Tim! We made it, although by that time the free food was gone and we were forced to focus our efforts on $1 drafts... Trouble. Thus when I finally got moving Sunday I thought I should head for home. Good to see you. DG enjoying her new bike? Pics?

I got home at about 10:45 this morning and decided that the bike could not sit idly by with such incredible weather. So I jumped on my silver mistress and just decided to go exploring. I went out passed paradise ridge and the road I was on eventually turned to gravel. Looked good so I kept going.

I found some nice windy roads out in the middle of nowhere. It just seemed to be getting nicer and nicer as time passed.

Then, while driving in any direction that looked interesting, I stumbled across a backway to Julietta. I am not from a around here so it was a fun find.

After passing through Julietta I noticed that there was a road going up the other side of the mountain. Since I didn't really have any time restraints I decided to see what it had to offer. Then I found this view.

If you look close, you can see the ambient temperature displayed on my instrument panel. Yes, that is correct, it was a very comfortable 76 degrees down there.
Once I started heading home I didn't really stop for many pictures. But I decided to take a picture of the curvy road that I had been on earlier although the picture doesn't show it as well as I had hoped.

Then, I saw one more place where I had to stop at for a photo op.

The camera didn't really pick the color up very well, but those hills behind the bike are a lot greener than they look in the picture. It was such a good day that I didn't want it to end.

Nice ride. I saw your post earlier today about going on a ride, but I had to much to do around the house and office. But arround 3pm I said enough, and left for Rosailia (last little bit of work to do) and then decided to ride to Steptoe Butte before heading home.
Mondays are usualy lite office days for me... so next time its a nice Monday, I'll try to ride your way.

Run up to Kendridk then out the east end, thru Cavendish to Orofino, is one of my favorites. Really nice evening ride during hay season.

There are a lot of those canyon roads in that area. Julietta to Orofino on the north side of the river and all the way to Kooskia on the south side.

Keep exploring.

It sure is nice to see blue sky again. It's been a very grey winter.

Looks like fun, Spaniard! +1 on thetourist's ride to Orifino, that's a fun road. We should all try it sometime. Unfortunately I seem to have far more ride ideas then time to take them on!

It just so happens that with the passing of midterms last week, things this week have slowed down to a crawl. The timing is impeccable because, as you can see, today is another gorgeous day. I am planning a ride for around 2:30 or 3:00 this afternoon. Destination: Unknown. Soundtrack: Led Zepplin, Johnny Cash, Dire Straits, Oreja de Van Gogh (Spanish Band), and some other stuff. Is anyone interested?
Also, thanks for the heads up for the ride to Orofino through Cavendish. I have actually made that trip before and then from Orofino I took the back road to Elk River. I say back road because it turns to gravel. If anyone is interested, let me know. The time line is flexible enough that I can wait a little longer before I leave. I can't leave earlier because I have some chores that have to be done before I leave (horses and cows need fed). Extra riders are always welcome so I hope to hear from some interested folks. I only have one class tomorrow and no homework for it. Todays ride can be as long as anyone wants it to be. Tomorrow, Repeat.

It would be very tempting to skip out and go with you, but I have to take my son to piano lessons later this afternoon - some right brain development. Maybe I could skip tomorrow, you got me thinking....

Yesterday afternoon, I decided to make a quick trip to Walla Walla on my '09 KLR 650 to take care of some business. The weather was beautiful. Now I know why some people complain about the comfort of the KLR stock seat. I needed to stop at the halfway point and walk around for a few minutes to get circulation back to the posterior region.
