This Weekend

Alright, who's up for riding SAT. Looks like some decent weather, partly cloudy with temps in mid 50's up to low 60's. I'm thinking of heading somewhere in the Hells Canyon area, but up for suggestions, just hoping to be able to spend sometime time off of pavement. If anyone is interested let me know, could meet in Lewiston and head out from there.

Ok, you got me, I still need to look over the map. Other than looking at the map, I don't know the area well enough to know which roads are most likely to be open so suggestions are welcomed.

I'm home from Arizona and looking to ride. There is still a lot of snow up high. Where are you thinking and what time.

With all of the rain and snow the "gravel" roads may be more interesting than I want for my first ride in a while.

That being said I always like to ride up Joseph creek , or it would work to ride over to Troy Oregon, sorebutt usually likes to ride out that way.

I enjoy heading out around Waitsburg/Dayton/Starbuck this time of year too.

I wonder how far you can get up Joseph Creek before snow blocks the road. At least all the rocks should keep it from getting too muddy.

I think dirt roads will all be too muddy. A good gravel road is probably all that is passable. Even lots of those will be soft and muddy.

I would swear that is the same road that ate my license plate a couple of years ago out near Pierce. I bought my little Honda 420 rancher tractor just for roads like that.

LB my ride on Saturday is going to be an easy one , with my camera along to ge some good pictures.
I will try to get some flower pics for you, though so far only my maple trees are close to blooming. You and the Spokane gang are welcome to join us of course, plenty of room in the house or Fishermans room in the shop.

I'm glad you were far enough behind you didn't get a picture of my bike taking a nap.

Thanks for the offer and I'm really tempted but I'm afraid I can't make it this weekend.

There is currently only one way from the North, from Lewiston , taking Hwy 129 to Asotin, Anatone, down rattlesnake grade and then up the Grande Ronde to Troy. In the summer you can do several routes by dirt over the top , coming out on Grouse flats above Troy from the Mountain rd, or down Cougar creek from the Mountain road.

The road is almost all paved now.
