There is a restaurant there that doesn't open up until noon, unless it is fishing season.

The Oasis at the bottom of Rattlesnake is open and has pretty good food, milkshakes.
We were in the new car a couple of weeks ago and the grade is fun even in the car.

sorebutt ,
I will try to call you tomorrow evening to see what your plan is for a ride saturday

The milkshakes there are legendary. Plan on leaving a few pounds heavier than when you walked in!

I gained weight just thinking about those milkshakes and pie.

My plans have been changed for me, what I was going to do this evening is moved to tomorrow, early afternoon, so no riding , or very little , for me.

Well, I'm out too. Rode to work today and noticed I smelled like gas when I got home. Got a leak in the seam of the tank by the mounting tab, will need to see what I want to do with it.

Just ordered a tank off Ebay, with a little luck I will have it in time for next weekend.

Ya, I'm glad I caught it when I did, its not leaking bad but a full day of riding Sat would not have been good. Just glad I was able to get a tank on Ebay for 60$

I missed out on riding today but made $350 and had a nice drive too. Work on the house tomorrow and finish rewiring the Pierce place next weekend, then I can go play the rest of the year.

It would have been a great day to be out, the valley was filled with harleys and bunches were out on the highways too.

It wasn't near as nice as the weather man said it was going to be. I didn't see much sun.

About noon today the showers turned to drizzle and I could see a small patch of blue sky in the south. Fired up the GS and ran up to Joseph Creek. The Grande Ronde is high and Joseph Creek had flooded and washed out part of the road. Just past the old cattle ranch house I talked to a couple that was cutting fire wood. Turned out sorebutt had tried to call from their house last year when we came across the man with the self inflicted gun shot wound. I made it about 200 yards past the last the cattle guard and it became just too slimy for my comfort. I got in a lot further this year than last year at this time. The couple said 4 wheelers were making it to the Y on top so the snow is coming off fast.

I can't believe you went riding today rather than yesterday.

I've had years when I couldn't make it to the top until June. Snow pack on the clearwater is 123% of normal. Most of the snow is pretty high.
