I posted... did you miss this?

To the Posse and today's ride... man I need to find some younger guys (and gal) to ride with so I can come home not all sore... great ride as usual, saw many new areas... some I will show the Mrs. as a part of the route when we head over to Montana in a couple of weeks... BTW I have to go back to Avery this week, apparently there is some Forest Service rule that if you remove so much dust you have to bring it back... dang did not know that. Thanks again for the ride and conversation... looking forward to the next ride.

Cool photo, thanks DT. I even managed to get that bald tire to pick up some rocks.

Hope to join you all again soon, I had a lot of fun.

I had always seen Mr Vintage on his SL350 before, usually his tail light til he left me behind. Wish I could have stayed for the whole ride.

We will have to tell Paul that his Guzzi can get out on the gravel more.

I am curious about the front fender clearance , if it is as close as it looks in the picture above ?

Mtseeker and I are talking about Grandad Bridge on Sun. So far there aren't many fires to the north.

Anyone interested?

Lost Pannier

I know you guys get into this stretch on occasion so posting here as well as on the Spokane thread. I'll be trying to get back up there in the next day or two weather permitting with truck, dogs, wife. At least we can bring back some huckleberries.

Did a solo across from Lochsa/US 12 to St. Regis Sunday/Monday. Great country. But when I got out at St. Regis, I noticed no right side pannier. Would appreciate keeping an eye out by intrepid voyagers should you get out to those neck of the woods in the near future. An HT Mojave soft pannier - black holding tire pump, tools, first aid, tubes (one bad) and other misc items.

Looking at my pictures, I pinned the location down to a 4 mile stretch back from the junction of 715 and 320 on 715 to a rock slide area. Now you see it now you don't. Left word this morning with the Panhandle USFS St. Maries HQ.

Picture A, right pannier present:

Picture B, right pannier missing:

Google Maps satellite view of above picture locations. 4 mile stretch of rough road, even rougher stretch leading to point A.

Full path (less some side trips).

Super trip. I covered 330 miles over the two days. 160 miles from Powell to St. Regis.

Thanks,

Ron

Maybe it rained enough last night so the dust won't be so bad. I'm not sure I would recognize Doublethumper if he wasn't covered in dust.

The key to making that work is to have a tire too bald to actually pick up any rocks...

Actually, I haven't had a problem but figured that if it rips the fender off I'll have an excuse to mount something different, and higher. This is how these low-volume eye-talian rides work - ownership includes completing the engineering process.

Roy, honestly the SL would have been better suited for Sunday's ride (I was kinda missing it), but I also would have been the really slow guy on the highway to and from Clarkia. Egads, I'm complicated....

I'd love to join you all this weekend but family commitments prevail. Have fun!

This comment isn't indended to disparage your italian beauty but It always amazes me how many companies sell stuff that isn't close to ready , I get to do a little of that post engineering, completing the engineering process in my job at SEL. Show a companies tech your data on their machine and find out that you have more data than they have.

I need to stay home this weekend and will very likely be in the mountians next weekend .

well Sara was right next to me singing...

and then we hung out with the opening act... that Natalie was really a lot of fun to talk to...

full disclosure .. we had purchased good tickets, four rows back... then Janet won center stage front row tickets! After the concert Janet hung out in the casino and won $150 free and clear
