Mic, all I did was remove all plastics,headlight and clocks, then grind off the two mounting lugs that are on the top of the loop, that the screen mounts to. Reweld at the bottom front area, just above the end of the snorkel.
Then welded a small tab to the top of the loop for the upper fixing.

Adapted the battery box today so the PC310 would fit and it give a nice stash compartment

I was just informed my 03 Dakar won the Twisted throttle photo contest.

A real suprise I never win anything. Got me 25$ and a tee shirt.

Pete,

Should've done this when you got rid of the ABS. Lower CG, and a bigger stash compartment.

Yes, that is my battery in the ABS compartment. PERFECT fit!

I can turn the throttle full on and it doesn't feel that powerful. Being a noob, I don't really know the difference but I would like to check it out.

Try sticking it in the rear hole....

It's the one furthest away if that gives you an idea. You see it clearly if you twist the throttle (you'll need to look down into the intake) the half throttle position only opens the valve 50%. It's supposed to open to 100% to a vertical position.

Congrats John! It's always nice to get a little recognition. Seeing your Dakar all set up like you have it makes me want to throw my leg over it and set out on a one-way trip to ... SOMEWHERE!
