I was hoping to make my aftermarket LEDs plug switchable with the OEM wiring in some way, but the guage of the wiring was too fine for standard US automotive electrical connections. Cut and reconfigure at your own peril...

My new to me 03 Dakar with 31k on the clock...only 200 of the miles are mine so far. Love it.
Good lookin bike. Those look like Pelican cases. Like the ones I'm considering puttin on my '01. Question I have is how that top case attaches. I've been told no plate for attaching a Pelican to my '01 by Caribou.

Just got back from a trip to northern PA from MD, hit the gravel in Tioga county.

This can't be right, can it?
It has a new sealed battery as of last year and the previous owner replaced the VR
2 years ago.
If that's your only symptom, I'd get a second opinion from a second volt meter. What does the meter say battery voltage is with everything off?

i had to turn my turn signals on to see where the noise was to find it, i found it under the top trim panel in front of the battery. look in front of the battery and theres a plastic cover near the bottom front of the battery, its under there. its kind of hard to get to without taking the battery out but i got mine switched without.

theres a square flasher you have to pull up then the wires are plugged to the bottom of it. will your signals work at all? i had to make mine blink to find the right box to unplug.

Parx

The flasher unit is two pin ( mine is NARVA # 68249) it is as Kubiak says behind steering head in front of battery. The unit is in the middle between two loom plugs on the right and one on the left. Mine is + green/black and L (lights) blue/white. Remove the dash globe or you will have hazard lights otherwise rewire the dash globe with both wires going to two diodes and conect to one side and a new earth wire to the other side. This is because bmw earth the dash globe through the opposite side circuit. With LED's they will all light up.

Hope I explained that well enough

cheers

Mark

Glad you found it. I'm still trying to figure out everything on the bike. Bought it off an inmate a few months ago.
