I got mine from Justgastanks, $330 landed here around there anyways. The Safari tank is cheaper to buy from the US and ship it here, than buy it here in Aussie. Just shows how our tax structure here is just so against business here and for business overseas. Old Harvey Norman did have a point. |

http://nbboss.en.made-in-china.com/p...D-FLL006-.html doesn't tell you much but you can see all the different types they make. First of try testing your flasher unit on the bench with a 12v battery & one LED light (it might be a dud) have a look at this gives a bit of instruction http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/12V-LED-F...item1c1baf75b1 try with your standard blinkers fitted then try leaving the - disconected then try joining the - to the L (can't hurt) Just for a bit of info, I run a 2 terminal el-cheapo aluminium flasher can with the 2 gray wires joined to one terminal. It's what the P/O had in the box of lights etc I had to put back on. It has worked fine for the last 2 years & I've since fitted LED globes to the rear blinkers to conserve power & stop the brake light flashing. works good. Maybe it's true, YOU CAN'T FIT LED BLINKERS TO a BRP kennyrob screwed with this post 05-17-2011 at 12:08 AM |

It's Alive
Well then here goes !
Here is a breakdown of parts that I have either repaired or replaced on my Friggin Red Pig. I sourced parts from a local dealer to interstate and even usa (via ebay) The work that I have done has not been possible without the help of all of you from the ADV site. And there has been a lot of help ! For that I thank you. I had missed out on the purchase of an old XR600 so began a search and found the PIG When I bought the PIG it had been badly treated but was in my price range and I knew that over time (more than a year) I would be able to re-build it back into something that I wanted. when I got the bike home and started the arduous task of stripping her down I soon found that this was going to take awhile :) it had been prettied up as a motard ! Not that there is anything wrong with them okay ? But this one had been ill treated :( first to strip was all the plastics ! Then the fun began :( To date some of the parts that I have either replaced , repaired, or rebuilt in some form or other Both chain adjuster Bolts frozen solid....... drilled out and re-tapped front forks rebuilt and all seals replaced rear end was rebuilt, re-gas'd and re sprung all by Eiback fenders front and rear replaced chain block, sliders and rollers replaced sprockets front and rear replaced DID chain installed (X ring) Retainer replaced (one that the disk guard bolts onto) steering head bearings replaced bash plate installed frame guards left and right installed clutch cover installed radiators replaced radiator guards installed all hoses replaced thermostat replaced Acrebis hand guards installed left hand switch block installed replaced headlight and shroud made a small windscreen brake switch (attaches to front lever) installed Speedo re-calibrated fork guards installed Fork boots replaced with rubber ones (OEM were shit) Rear support bracket re-installed (holds the indicators) side covers replaced Pivot Pegs ( I've got big feet ) Right hand Foot peg bolts replaced Arrow Exhaust system (muffler re-packed & rebuilt) shortened 20 mm headers re polished (by hand covered in shit) headers wrapped in heat resistant wrap Tyres replaced, Kenda knobbies trail masters(i know there are better out there) Continental 4mm tubes installed re wire of headlight and switch gear using same colour as OEM re-wire of rear loom again to OEM this was all hard soldered to survive ! And a Bag full of bolts/screws/nuts/clamps ! All this work was made possible by my Makita hammer drill and Impact Screwdriver coupled with the good old hammer ( I Kid Ye Not ) Again it would have been very difficult to do all this work without your assistance. Rocketmanphil Thanks you and this top site ADV

tooooo much
Hi there Kasuyaho
in reality the further that I dug into the Pig the more I found wrong so ... cost me tooo much, all up on the re-conditioning of the Friggin pig has been $2500 (other half would say stupidity) but I was unable to spend more on a bike at the time that I purchased it.But the gain has been that I was able to do most of the work and in an event when I get high sided or etc I will know how to fix it.I still have a wish list of Tank, racks of some form and a few other items but they will have to be over time and discreetly done if you know what I mean

Solice LED lights
http://www.andystrapz.com/products-d...Id=101&Level=1
Hey groovers, I am looking for more light for my XR650R. I have a cracker Cyclops HID, but it needs a battery to ignite the starter... so I have put that on my tiger, does anyone know if the XR will drive one of these LED spot lights from Andy Strapz? They seem like the real deal... I will look at getting the Stator upgraded at some point, but for now I just want a quick fix. Joe

If you mean the output of the stator will it drive this light yep. The formula is: Amps by voltage = watts .75 amps multiplied by 12.6 volts = 9.45 watts drawn from the stator. Watts / Volts = Amps The output of the stock stator is what ? 45 watts? 45 watts divided by 12.6 volts (roughly) = 3.57 amps stator output KASUYAHO screwed with this post 05-24-2011 at 12:57 AM |

Full noise for Kougar isn't fast, its just him yelling and screaming as he gets left behind. So Kougar where are you heading first?? You coming up this way or for our winter or are by the time you leave it'l be summer and getting a bit to hot to be up this way?? If you come outside our wet season, your more than welcome to park the bus down on the back paddock. If you decide to come up in the wet you can still park there but just keep in mind the river can come up a little high and it would mean you may be stuck on your own little island for a few hours to a day at the most. With this years wet it came up extremely high only once at about 2am but it was back down by 6am. Only other problem was that the bridge out was under water for 2 days.
