i got my XRR back

thing is, with the new cam in her, shes lean as all buggery.

need a few things guys,

its got a 175 main jet in it at the moment, what size should i go up to. 180, 185?

to make it at least run and have decent response, the choke has to be on constantly.



i want to make it run properly with the HRC hot cam thats in it, and the full staintune system. the baffle is in the system so far, but would be cool if i can take the baffle out.

sounds a bit strange. the hrc cam is basically the same lift as a stage 1 cam but with a little more duration from memory. have you checked for vacuum leaks around the intake boot?

+1 for vacuum leak.

Start it up and spray CRC or similar around intake boot whilst idling or lowish revs. Easiest way.
If it wants to run better, picks up revs etc, it's a leak.

What carb are you running Ross?
Like that fella Digga says, a new cam shouldn't make that much difference.
Sounds like you've got a bit of shit in the idle jet, even a bit of moisture, providing you don't have any air leaks as Digga and Smithy says...there...don't think I've trod on any one's foot

Just saying, if it's an FCR, many have put the choke plate in upside down.

it was running lean before the cam went in.

thats one reason why i reckon its leaned out even further now.

didnt think of vacuum leaks though

well theres no vacuum leaks that i could find,

i bought and tried a 180 main jet and that made it at least run without the choke on, but its still not right.

thinking im just gonna hand over the money for one of my other forums sponsors to tune it properly.
