I want a 525 ktm. I have a wr250r. My fiance has a xt225. So she is bike knowledgeable and would notice another bike.

How do I justify the 525???????
I also want to race enduros..... but I want my bike to be street legal. Im looking at a ktm around 2500 bucks.

Just tell her you put orange plastic on your blue bike.

Are you justifying the 525 to yourself or your Fiancé? If it's for yourself and the bike fits go for it! If it's to try to hide the purchase from your Fiance you have some thinking to do. Honesty works, especially if she is bike savvy! Just sayin.

Ultimately it's your call, and your Fiancé, good luck!

"Honey, I want to race enduros on a street legal beast. I bought a 525. Wanna take it for a spin?"

The fuck is wrong with that approach?

^^^ What he said.

If you have to justify it or hide it or fear the "consequences" then you are lucky that she is still your fiance!!! Don't marry that one! It will only get worse. hahaa

Tell her that real men ride KTM's and you wish desperately to be a real man.

I need to justify it for myself so I can justify it to her. I have decided to get it and then sell the one I like less.

Because I'm living with the situation right now...

If you are not otherwise financially strapped, then:

1. Tell her you are buying it, if she says no, find another woman because "yes" is not likely to happen a month or year from now.

2. If she says "Sure" go ahead (with the bike and marriage)

3. If she says "Sure, but I want one too", does she have a sister?

If your relationship is such that you have to hide or forgo something like a new bike (and you can honestly afford it) then cut and run now, or you will face misery down the line.

Having ridden a KTM for the past decade...do it.

Are you sure you're up to a 525 in the woods? Big bore Katooms are brutally strong and a real handful for someone not up to the task. Big bore thumpers are the literbikes of the off road world. The 350XC-F may be more to your comfort level.

Yeah I saw all the bikes in your profile. Don't be offended I've seen what happens to people who jump on my big bore off roaders unprepared. Broken plastic, plaster and concussions. Have fun or work your ass off it's your call.

If ya wanna race go racing. If she doesn't understand perhaps it's a lifesaver for both of you. BTW they'll let you race the WR-F. You may wanna give it a shot first.

Bob call me a sicko but I'm not sure I'd give up my freedom to ride what I wanna ride even for Kate Upton.

Looking at one today after work. Multiple bikes are not an issue. My fiance has had 2 bikes before. A monster 695 and a klr650. I think I have had 3 before. Race bike. Commuter and a klr650.

So if I call my 525 a race bike, could I say it is different enough compared to my wr250r. I only ride both on the dirt.

So I'm trying to justify 2 bikes with the same purpose. I would use my wr250r as a friend's bike. But I have short friends.

I will also struggle to move 3 bikes around. My truck only has 100 hp and struggles with 2 bikes.
