Need some help from the collective wisdom.

Some asshole has busted bottles from here to eternity in my area and I'm getting flats far too often not to freak out. in the last 60K I've had three.

Any suggestions on a good kevlar tire that may help out. I don't mind the extra weight if it's going to save me from some (not all) of this aggravation.

What size tire? My wife and I have had really good luck with the Schwalbe Duranos, I think we're close to wearing out our third pair between us, with no flats yet. I run a 700x25 back/23 front.

I went through prince rupert this summer- I'm curious, is there anything else to ride besides up towards Terrace and back? Nice ride, but not many options up there.

I've had good luck with the Maxxis kevlar road tires, you can get them from close'ish to you in Nelson.

You're right to some degree. From Rupert as you head east on 16 there are two roads that head off and dead end. The first brings you 7 K out to the Ridley coal and grain terminal, so it's a double back to 16. The second cuts off of 16 to Port Edward and continues to the old North Pacific fish cannery. Actually this is a really nice quite winding road with lots of short rolling climbs. Again it dead ends so it's doubling back to 16 then the choice is home for about a 55k total or east on 16 to gain more milage.

Last night was just going to be out to the cannery and home. That makes for a 42k ride, I call it my after school special. Usually takes an hour and a half almost to the minute every time, unless you flat out constantly.

Thanks for the call on the tires, some are going on order today.

I've been running Conti Gatorskins after WAY too many flats during my commute. (As I'm sure you know changing a tube on the shoulder of a busy street sucks.)

Running 700x25 and I've gotten nearly 500 miles out of them. The rear is starting to square off, so I'm going to be flipping and switching front and back pretty soon. The change was noticeable during acceleration from the Hutchinson Fusion 3's I had on before, but I just consider it a 'training' tire.

Lots of glass during my commute and cinders on some of the remote roads to deal with and I haven't had a puncture flat yet. I have had the rear tube develop a split at the stem, but that's just from age.
