The Brew's wheels came off my old bike. The purple Hopes looked good on the Vitus. I had to stop riding shortly after I built up the Brew so I never got around to building wheels for it.

Right now the only bike I ride is the Fuji "comfort" bike I use on the trainer. I am in the process of getting my Bike Friday back into roadworthy condition so I can either ride it or sell it.

I also have one of the original Amplifier F/S bikes, a B.O.B. trailer and Park repair stand in my shop.

Lovin' mine. Low gearing for climbing yet I can still spin up to 35 mph top end.
I have a 29er Gravity point5 from BD I put 1500 miles on this year and am ready to pull the trigger on that very bike. Any more info you'd like to share on it? I can't always get to the trails and need something less "tractorish" for the road and rail trail. Looks like a decent all rounder.

The bikes and the Park stand are in the house and the B.O.B. is in the shed. The shop has drawers full of saddles, helmets, chainrings, spokes and tubes.

The Brew is French Banner Blue and Pink Panther Pink. I love the way a steel frame rides.

After a couple of hundred miles so far it rides nice, comfortable geometry, climbs well enough that I am starting to enjoy climbing and I am ahem gravity challenged. I switched the stock tires out for some Conti commuter gatorskins which aren't the fastest rollers. Only changes I forsee now are fenders and a rack and maybe switch the crank out for a compact double to gear it taller when the legs feel up to it. Wish it was lighter but the weight is insignifigant once I mount up. Paint is plain so I don't feel bad about putting reflective tape on it. The chain stays don't have a lot of clearance around the disc so be careful putting the wheel in and out or you will scratch the shit out of it like I did.

I've only got a lowly PBS 'Ultimate stand' knockoff. Portable tho which makes it perfect for what I want/need.

One of the guys I used to work with broke so many of those AMP frames they stopped warrantee-ing em. He was a little hard on his stuff tho.

But still

I had to change the bushings in the pivots, upgraded to the aluminum fork w/threadless HS, broke a Hyperlite bar and I wore through the side of the rear rim and had to build a new wheel. With the new wheel came an 8 speed XT upgrade. So basically the only parts from the original build, besides the frame is the front wheel, seat post and brakes. The bike is high mileage but was never abused (except for a few times -but it abused me back!).

Cycling was a huge part of my life for a long time. Probably still would be if circumstances hadn't made me quit. The equipment has changed a lot since then but I suspect it still boils down to wanting to reel in the jersey ahead of you and be willing to suffer to do it.
