You bashed yer ankles on that crank yet?

Last time I had one of them Mavic cranksets, I stuck in on a JIS BB and cracked the spider. Sent it to Mavic and they said 'tough.'

I have a Specialized cold forged crank with a 144BCD pattern that may work better on that bike (has a built-in pants guard) if yer innerested

Never had a problem with the crank. Skinny ankles maybe? I've since upgraded to a more appropriate looking TA crank. Thanks for the offer though!

So that means that cranks available? What's her measurements?

I've got this thing for the older Mavic stuff. College roommate of mine's still running Mavic Retrofriction stuff on his Aegis. I'ma gonna try and talk him out of it.

Gummee- Let me look around. I too have a thing for the old Mavic stuff and have a bunch of it. I'm pretty sure I have hubs, maybe brakes, that crank (170's I think, but with just one ring, and I think it's a TA), BB and who know's what else. Most of its at work so I'll check tomorrow.

I had the Zanconato built up with a full Mavic group for a couple of years. Looked cool. Just got a complete Nuovo Record group that is going on next.

Hercules Sport. I picked this up in Germany a few years ago.

I just got it tuned up and did my first ride in over 3 years.

I still have a Mavic headset that's sorta OK. I think I screwed up the installation and brinneled it, but its prolly still useable.

The other groups I have for are Superbe Pro and Sachs New Success. NS ain't the lightest thing around, but it sure was pretty. Some of my teammates in college had Colnago Master Olympics with Superbe Pro on em. I'm still lusting after em. That and a smoke-chrome Pinarello. Way nice.

I have a pair of NOS 571/2 hubs that are waiting for me to build em into something. I have a pair of Campy Omega XL clinchers that're in a box just calling out to be built into a wheelset. All I need are spokes. All I don't have is $$ for spokes.

My training wheels are built on Mavic hubs. 531s originally, but I relaced the rear with a 571/2 'cause having a FW rear wheel and 9/10sp don't mix. Those wheels are older'n some of the kids I ride with.

Comfort Bike Makeover

I need some advise to help sex-up DirtWife's Raleigh SC40. It's about 10-years old and in fine condition but she says she feels like Pee Wee Herman riding it.....

What would you do to add some pizzazz without breaking the bank?

sorry for the crappy pic

Unbelievable!

I'm modding the exact same bike for my wife. I am scrapping an old Trek mountain bike with Shimano LX and XT components, much nicer rimes, etc! I just need to get the crank off of the Trek and it will be good!

Small world.....

What are you doing with the seat/post and bars? It's a great little bike for her purpose, just not sexy enough.....

I hate to be the voice of reason, but no matter what you do to it, it'll still be a hoopty.

What specifically isn't she happy about? Get that answer and you'll be on your way.
