SWOBO's website has been down for awhile, and I just checked it, it's up. They have a front brake kit for $20.

A friend dropped this off the other day for me to sell for him. Any idea what a decent asking price might be? Full XTR except for the new XT rear derailleur, custom painted Juty SL fork, Ti syncros post.

Too bad 1. its too big for me and 2. I'm broke

AFA the brake issue from a few posts up: your bike looks to have a mount for a disc brake. Do that. Mo bettah braking than rim brakes. Especially the cheap stuff yer gonna hafta buy to make that reach work. Avid BB5s are great brakes that don't cost an arm and a leg. You *may* hafta buy a new front wheel tho.

That too is on the later bike, mine doesn't have the mounts. But, I have considered frankenbiking it and finding a different front fork... I'm just an idiot about bikes, I would probably totally jack the thing up.

Anything I would have come up with would have been more than that.

Sounds like a good thing.

Oh Man I wish I have the Money, I miss my Yo Eddy's so much, Actually ask your friend if he still have the original FatChace fork (that can sell for even more than the frame it self), I don't know with the market the way it is today, But before the down term on the economy that bike will sell easy for at least $2000 specially if you where willing to send it to Europe.

Thought if there were a few old BMX'ers like me in here they might be interested in seeing this. I'm the original owner from around 1980. Built it myself, raced it pretty extensively in the NE until I blew out my knee in High School. It's in pretty decent shape actually for sitting in my parent's garage for the past 20 years or so.....

What he said. What's the frame size anyway?

I waffled between a Fat and a Bontrager back around 94. I bought the Bontrager Race Lite which was then promptly stolen. I had had it less than 4 months.

Nice. My wife still commutes on her randonee from about 1996- that bike took her all over france and spain 10 years ago. Not light bikes (at least hers sure isn't), but solid, and great for commuting and touring.

Plus, finding one with 105 is great- very good components.

Sorry, no fork. It is a medium/large. Wow, an original Bontager, that is pretty cool.

slackmeyer,

Thanks...... That '09 Randonee is a result of looking, asking, talking, reading, riding, generally learning 'bout bikes and what might be best for me. I went with a "heavy" Touring bike for a couple reasons.... I haven't ridden a bike since 1985, prior to that I was all about my bike! If I was to take up bike'n again, I better be comfortable and leave room for growth (otherwise I might lose interest). Reynolds 520 steel is said to absorb vibration & bumps, i.e. "comfort". Drop down bars are nothing more than abreviated "Hybrid" flat bars but with room to grow, stretch out & GO! And the 36 spoke wheels seemed to be the better option for my 250 pounds.....

57 year old, just retired, dense musculature.... but fat. Been riding a recumbant stationary for the past 5 months, started working out with dumbbells, and it was time to take it to the next level.
so.......
I got me a new BIKE!
