I like me the looks of those tires. If I can find 'em in canada, I'll be interested.
They don't make detours up here, it seems.

Looks like a great tire, can't wait on some reports on how it rides in the loose stuff. I just got an '09 and have ridden a couple of hundred miles of dirt so far. The stock tires are all right in the packed dirt, but don't like loose gravel or mud much.

I'm looking for a more aggressive tire, but not a full knobby and these look promising.

Yes, any ride reports yet (especially in the loose stuff)? Anxiously awaiting

I want to get a set on before heading out to Moab.

I like 'em; a lot. If you've ridden Tourances these will be as good if not better. Good grip on tarmac; loose (OK, slick as snot) in wet grass; decent bite in dry grass and hard packed dirt/gravel. Controllable slides on the dry dirt. Mine feels a bit heavier in the front but that may just be bike setup. 200+milles and I've not worn the nubbies off them yet.

Hello,

I just got my Shinkos from motorcycle superstore. I'm planning on mounting them up on my DL650.

I was inspecting the tire and noticed that it says max pressure is 33 front and rear. The DL650 specifies 33 front and 36 rear for single and 41 for dual. Am I limited to running the rear at 33 psi for single and dual riding?

What is the load index? It will be a 2 digit number, probably in the high 40s to low 50s, followed by the letter Q.

59 load index is 536lbs
69 load index is 716lbs

The Q is the speed rating, 99mph same as TKC80

EDIT:
Here's a chart: http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...oLoadIndex.jsp

Thats interesting. I normally run "street pressurse" on my DL650 at 39F/42R on other tires. I guess we'll have to see how those tires do at the lower pressures or experiment with some others? Wonder why they are sol low?

just bought some myself. I have gone through avon distanzias and maxxis presa detours, both wore out around 4k (rear). If I get more than 4000 miles out of these tires - I will be a happy camper!
