Knee mounted air deflector

There is a new option available to motorcyclists who have been putting up with helmet wind noise created by their windscreen. Hyes patented "knee mounted air deflector for motorcyclist" is designed to disrupt the air stream that flows from under the windscreen, up the front side of your upper body and hits your face.
Visit HYES, LLC at hearyourengine.com for more details.

First thoughts are I'm not crazy about them attached to my knees but if they work as shown they could be worth their weight in gold.

Have you thought about mounting them on the sides of the tank, maybe with magnets??

How are they at highway speed and above?

Dan,

I feel the same as you. Not crazy about attaching them to my knees, but after going for a ride with them once I now won't go without them.

Magnets wouldn't hold. Too many variations to consider to make it so people could attach it to their motorcycle. Not sure how effective they would be mounted to the tank, if they were positioned for your feet to be on the standard pegs and you moved them to the highway pegs.

Iv'e been on the interstate doing 70 - 75 and they hold up okay.

Have you seen the air scoops made to fit into the sleeves of your jacket to direct airflow up your arms? I am guessing there would be hell to pay if you combined these leg mounted wings with those.

Props to someone at least putting some thought into something and making a go of it.

Exactly, it's great to see peeople using their heads for something besides a helmet rack.

So at 75 do they bend or do the straps cut into your knees at all ?

Have you experimented with different windshields and no windshields?

The wind won't make the deflector bend.

The 2 inches of hook and loop material is what holds the 1 inch wide strap together around your leg, just below the knee. The tension on the strap can't be any more than the hook and loop can hold, being tugged on lengthwise.

Not sure the deflectors would have any effect on a rider whose motorcycle didn't have a windshield.

The Hyes air deflectors disrupt the air stream that is rushing up to fill the vacuum that was created by the windshield's forward movement. They have been found to be effective for riders who's motorcycle has a windshield or windshield and fairing.

Huh...interesting idea. http://hearyourengine.com/

IMHO, the website needs some pics (no bandwidth here for video), and maybe a graphic with arrows explaining why I want wings on my knees!

For example:

Aaaand... a V-twin engine is prominent on your frontpage, but I've gotta go looking for pics of your product?

Good luck!

Still can save with free shipping and handling.

And then you'll ride without annoying, fatiguing, deafening wind noise.
