Can someone explain the year to year changes on the SD? My understanding is the '07 and later bikes are "improved?"

Also, what is the difference between an SD and SD-R?

Thanks!

First gen bikes were '05 and '06. '07 and onward got cat cons and might have lost a little hp. They gained slightly different bodywork mainly the headlight and larger fuel tanks, and in the case of the SD a slightly more relaxed geometry to make the bike a little more stable.

The SDR got a more powerful engine, pistons, rods and heads made the difference I believe. Monoblock brake calipers and DLC coating of the fork legs, single seat and some other detail changes. It also retained the steeper geometry of the earlier bikes.

um - that's all I can add to this...

The SDR has stock titanium akrapovic headers, too. More aggressive cam timings (which makes it not as nice around town).

Interesting color choices. Much too gaudy for my tastes, but to each his own...

Definitely a "to each his own" category.

I rather like it.

It has a kinda of BMW M-Sport color look...

That anthracite SD of Ravens is what drew me into SD ownership. I half heartedly tried to sell mine over the winter with no takers. Not the best time to sell of course. I don't see it going on the auction block anytime soon. Just purchased a Cox Radiator guard and have a set of Pilot 2CTs to get mounted. I see some moving on Ebay for a well deserved price. There is not anything quite like an SD.

Not sure where you are located but I mount my own tires on a No Mar machine. If in the NYC area hit me up and we can get those mounted for you. Same for Rayvn or any other SDer...
