Big Bend National Park 12/27-1/2

I'm planning a trip there and am looking to see if someone is already going to be there and wanted to split "rent". If not I am planning on Stillwell but was just trying to find something inside the park.

Also, if anyone wanted to meet up I'm going to be rolling solo on my KTM 500.

I'm taking some time off at the end of the year, so this is possible. Would have to bug out a bit early, but definitely possible. I've done some "high clearance" roads there on 4 wheels, and they might be nice on 2.

By Stillwell, I take it you are RVing to Big Bend. There are nice RV sites in Rio Grande Village. Also in Study Butte there is a RV park right behind the gas station. They both have full facilites. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info but I'm tent camping. I have also made reservations at Big Bend Resort and Adventures.

I have very loose plans to hit Big Bend the same time frame that you're aiming for. I had also planned to tent camp.
Are you riding or trailering?

Since you are tent camping, I would suggest Chisos Basis Campground in Big BEnd. And west of Terlinqua about 5 miles is a great place with great showers and great views. Forget the name, just ride west on River Rd. and look on your right side. The sign says camping and gun sales. Usually not many people there.

I'm hauling. I have a tent site reservation at Big Bend Resort and Adventures if you need a place to pitch your tent. I tried for in the park but everything is booked up. l have also been chatting with some guys on another forum that are going to be there as well.

I think you are referring to Big Bend Resort and Adventures. If so, I'm booked there for 7 nights.

Big Bend Resort and Adventures is in Study Butte at the intersection of 118 and 170. I think FotoTEX is talking about Rancho Topanga about about 5 miles west of Terlingua on 170.

be sure to check out the state park. much more rustic and less people there typically. rules say you can ride a plated bike on any jeep trail. there is no fuel available so plan wisely. i was there during this time last year in a pickup. i would love to go back to dual sport.

Thanks for the heads up. My reasoning for the park I'm staying at is its central location between the 2 parks. I have a 5.3 gal tank so fuel shouldn't be too much of a problem.
