Yes it does come up. It seems to complete the boot then start the entire boot process up over again.

My computer just out of the blue decided to cooperate. I have no clue as to why I was stuck in endless boot. Anyway. it's working (for now). Thanks Tim

Good advice Matt. In the meantime, find a copy of Windows anything except Vista for a reinstall. Also, don't turn it off (just turn off monitor).

Took your advice Mouth and Tim. I just am backing everything up on my external hard drive and moving things to to DropBox and Cox Drop and Drag.

its usually easy Doc.

Cd goes in, it prompts you to do the rest.

takes about a while, depending on how fast or slow your machine and hard drive are.

I blow my trvel laptop away about once per year anymore. a fresh install of XP seems to run 10x faster than a year old install.

and does it wipe out all your other stuff or does it only redo the OS?

there are options usually to save your older stuff, although that is risky in my opinion.

they normally work fine, and you end up with all of your old files in your new OS install, but Id back everything up just in case something got sideways.

do you have an old unused computer?
I think you would like Ubuntu.

its free, small download, can run from a usb flash drive even, and works very well on most machines ive tried it on.

you can install it on a USB drive, and plug it in and run t on your machine to see if you like it, before installing it on your harddrive.

pretty nifty.
