To sum up the extent of my injuries, ruptured spleen, six briken ribs, broken clavicle and collor bone. Other than that I am in pretty good shape. My right lung collapsed a bit from the impact, hit hard on my left side, and it took a while to clear all of the fluid from my lungs but left the hospital yesterday with a 97% lung capacity. The Good Lord was definetly looking out for me.

All of this caused by some inattentiveness on my part, and a sharp downhille right hand curve. I feel like a moron for letting something like this happen just out for a Sunday ride, but I guess it is all meant for a reason. A good time to reflect and assess and carry on with hopefully a life lesson learned. All I remember was topping this blind knob and the picture of a fairly steep down hill right hand turn and me applying the brakes. I most undoubtedly put in too much rear brake and the rear end came out from under me.

I will post up some pics of the day of the scene of the accident and the bike and such in the ride report thread as soon as the Mrs. brings my camera up from the truck. I wanted to let you all know I was home so you wouldn't go to the hospital today thinking I was there.

Outstanding Tim! I am so glad they let you come home. I know EVERYTHING I ever want to know about staying in the hospital. Everyone is right, now you can really get the rest you need and get on with recuperation.

Thanks for all the heart warming comments guys! You are making my day. As for the tamales OJay, thanks for the offer but I've got about a 16" incision right down the center of my belly. Stapled and stiched. Any amount of food intake and it feels like the incision is stretched to the limit so I am trying to eat lite. Any and all are welcome to come by if you like.
