Hey O'Jay best wishes on your health. Can't say I can relate but it sure sounds like it is hard to deal with. Good luck to say the least.

I got a big red X so I dont see your foot picture Internet Ray, BUT, you just need to wear those boots and ride to break them in. Back in the day I had soaked them in the bathtub before and then worn them around still wet to break them in, but it seems like the modern boots fit and flex fine to me right outta the box.

I'm not sure Doc. Each trip hits us for about $200. I think I'm gonna deduct all these travel expenses off the final bill.

I know this is way off BS but this makes me think about questioning some things I have been taught:

Wayno, those kids are my hero's. I can't gripe one bit about my treatments or anything at all related to my cancer when it's put into perspective against what these young'uns go through. And several of them go about it smiling and pushing forward. I'm amazed at the resiliency of the human spirit, especially in those so young. I should be so brave in my old age.

Yet another update.

I was suppose to be leaving for St. Louis in the morning to have surgery on Friday. The plan was to remove a portion of my liver with the remnants of the tumors in it. So I'm all geared up for this mentally. Uh-Uh, not yet Skippy.

Then I get a call from the surgeon at about 5pm today. He'd been in the lab with a pathologist, looking at the tissue samples from my liver biopsy taken last week. Apparently there is some damage to my liver, most likely caused by the heavy chemo treatments I've have over the past year. The Dr. said if he removed any of my liver there was a very good chance I'd have liver failure, which could prove fatal. I thanked him for his kind consideration on that little point.
I'm still going up to St. Louis but will have a different procedure done. A catheter will be inserted into a blood vessel leading to my liver. Then he will block off the blood supply to the part of my liver where the tumors are located, effectively starving that portion of my liver. The rest of the liver will grow larger to compensate for teh loss of active tissue. In 6 weeks I'll go back for a scan to see how it progresses. If the liver has grown enough then I'll have the surgery. If not, then back home to let it grow some more. This all sounds good on paper, lets see how it plays out in reality.

What bothers me the most about this is that it's pushing my surgery further out towards the beginning of riding season. Have these people so sense of priority?
