I think some people view houses as they do cars, they do not want one that anyone else has ever lived in.

If there was a decent property management company around here I'd buy something for a rental. I've got property in LA and Houston to get ride of soon and need to reinvest the funds. But I sure don't wanna be married to the rentals at all.

Speaking of, I'm seeing numerous NEW subdivisions being built all of a sudden. WTF is up with that? I'd think these banks wouldnt be forking out money for subdivisions and more houses when theres such a surplus of houses sitting vacant.

I'm not sure what the deal is on the new construction, but there is definitely some going on. Initially, it was pre-sold stuff. Now, there are a few spec houses in the mix.

A few neighborhoods in East Fayetteville that sat vacant for a few years are finally getting houses put in them.

I guess they're for those people who only want "new".

There is some truth to that.

I work with a woman, and her husband too, and they live in a duplex, one that they moved into right after it was built.
they started house hunting, and would only look at new construction, I finally asked him how the house search was going.

he rolled his eyes and said " she wont live in a place that is not brand new!"

I was thinking... wow, sorry man..

I'm just the opposite.

I'd prefer a hundred year old farm house, or a 1950s contemporary.

Exactly. I'd rather have a house thats a few years old at least, then you know there arent any issues with settling etc.

Guess, it'll take a lot longer than we had hoped.
We have a house across street that has been on mkt for 2 years and price has been lowered from 160 to 125. Maybe 5-7 lookers in that whole time.

Several years back I was looking for a fixer upper on about an acre of land. The prices were way out of my retirement range. Even considered trying to buy a small parcel out in the country and buying a FEMA trailer to move on it. Just never ran into a place I wanted.

You should buy a WM store. It would always be rented and well stocked, when you came to visit.

BMW and Corbin have got to be doing the happy dance, for all publicity.

HD owners who are tired of "laying it down", should be flocking to BMW's doorsteps.

Both my bikes with aluminum skids resonate like a mofo, I am too lazy to do anything about it.
One of the girls I work with is putting all this together. (Her husband is a LEO at the Lowell dept.) She said there will also be a gathering at Jose's on Dickson Thursday night. Apparently they're opening back up. They have lots of donations and prizes lined up.
