I think the DRZ would be the most fun..at least on the dirt roads you chance of being taken out by a teen textin is minimal..and surely someone here will wanna ride, maybe even me!

Tore into the XR carb...found some kind of membrane or blockage in the pilot jet..blowed it out, inspected all the other parts (jets, ports etc) and slapped it all back together..abt 2 hrs of work...XR runs great again..yesterday while it was missing and spit and spurtering at steady speed, it seemed like it was sluggish and no power..not now, runs like it is suppose to!

There are not any other options with suspension. There are two other brands I think...Cobra and Polini? And I hear theyre worse than the KTM, and they use the same clutch I'm sure.

He's big for his size, I hope he outgrows it quickly and we will get him on a 65cc with a real clutch!

How far you willing to go?

Black Oak Road crosses the West Fork just South of town. People use that. There's always the old pump station at the end of pump station road. Both can be accessed by driving south on Armstrong off 15th Street.

You can access the river off AR-45 at Twin Bridges. There's a nice parking lot under the first bridge.

You can drive out to Goshen, then turn north on Blue Springs Road. A few miles up is Blue Springs Use Area.

It's not hard to find water holes in NWA!

A little farther from town, but there are several great places along The Mulberry river. It's nice down there.

Doc, you should check your fuel filter, nothing like that should ever get into your carb float bowl. Just say'n.

thats what I thought..filter checked out ok..I think what it was was fuel going bad..I had taken out of my sons 250..it smelled ok but had been in the tank for some time, 3 or 4 months at least..I gots fresh fuel now tho!

You probably already know this but Stabil fuel sabilizer will help a lot in long term storage>

If you can 'bring' one I would bring da DRZ. That is one badA ride.

Ed. I plan to ride sunday sometime if I end up solo. But not far 30 miles tops....70dirt/30 from the house.

Dug up the "west texas - panhandle" BS thread. 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!! pages if I remember correctly. This one: 3111whatever. I see where the BS roams...

I might have to introduce them to Ozark BS. Might be some Texans come Ozark riding. We'll only burn one of them .

Nah, I better get to inquiring so I can justify my next moto payment and find some rides. Plus seems like one ADV rider is as nutty as the next. Surely there is killer riding out there somewhere to be found

Big Bend. Otherwise you better suck up to some landowners. Everything there is privately held. Better get a street bike.....

If there is to be a bright spot in this trip I found it this evening.

Kathe and I were wandering down the street looking for someplace to eat that wasn't hospital food.

Stopped to check out what I thought was a steak house, turned out to be a sandwich place. Right next door though was a joint called "Soul 4 Real". Looked through the window at the menu....

Meatloaf, ribs, bbq chicken, collard greens, black eyed peas, cornbread, etc. I'm in.

Wandered in, the fella behind the counter hands me a sample of the ribs. BBQ done right, sauce on the meat right off the grill. Good stuff. Kathe had the chicken/rib combo, I had meatloaf with candied yams and rice&gravy. Some of that good cornbread. Man, I felt like I was back at Grannies house on a Sunday afternoon. Folks working in there were big time friendly and laughing up a storm at themselves.

I may have to wander back down there again tomorrow evening.

Also got to test ride a Trek 29er today as well. 30 speed, hydraulic disc brakes, gel seat. Nice mtn bike and all for only $2,399.00.

I'm ready to head home, I'm missing my bike.
