Do you have a set plan on where you are going or you just want some ideas to explore?
What are the boundries? ummmm?

North of I-40 in AR but south of I-44 in MO? Not gonna be there very long

I'm getting my route together in my head, I will plot it for the GPS, but there is 1 in a hundred chance I will follow that route. I have the attention span of. .......hey, a quarter!.... where was I?

The rest of the family is heading to the Gulf Coast. I just can't spend a whole week laying on a beach, so I'll hook up with them later in the week. I'd like to hit as many different states as possible. My plan is to get "Welcome to..." pictures of Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. I'll probably need to stay sorta close to those state lines. But, there is a good chance I could fall in love with the Ozarks and throw the rest of the plan out the window. That's the Adult ADD factor that keeps popping up when I ride, and the reason I don't mind changing the route. The coolest stuff is not in the plan, it just happens.

I guess I'm asking for random suggestions. A cool road to a swimming hole, a country store with a great bologna sandwich, an out of the way strip club (oops! ...did I type that out loud?) Really, just a taste of the local flavor. and just kidding about the strip club.

Like I said, I'm subscribed, listening in. If a cool idea hits you, post up or pm. And remember the the open inventation for Mid-Tenn info and/or a guide if my schedule will let me. oh, and Land Between the Lakes for a little light ADV riding. (There are two or three solid days of exploring there for the big bikes)

If you're wanting to get Kansas and Oklahoma, there is a "Three States Monument" near Downstream Casino, near Joplin. The monument has been there for many years:

AR-14 is a good road to use to get from here in The Hills back over to Tennessee...

Some search words for you: Eureka Springs, Jasper, Oark General Store, Turner Bend Store, Mountain View, Boxley Valley, Mulberry River, Buffalo River, Steele Creek, Sylamore Creek, Pedestal Rocks, Mammoth Spring...

Arkansas has a great State Parks System. If you like history; Powhatan, Davidsonville, and Jacksonport State Parks will be along your general route in NE Arkansas... http://www.arkansasstateparks.com/park-finder/


The good riding is pretty much endless. There are lots of things to see and do along the way, too.

Bayou Bluff, on AR27 Swimming Hole, Another is Long Pool off AR164 south side of the Forest.
Big Piney Overlook on Treat road, not far from Long Pool,
Mount Judea, and Sams Throne, what could be the shortest section of the curviest road in Arkansas.
Whitaker Point in Northern section of the Forest,
Not many Falls have water right now its bad dry, .
Buffalo river is bad low too.
