Thanks. 1996 model Sport 1100. I've owned it since new...

Rode it 300 miles round trip, 2-up, last Saturday for breakfast in McAlester.

Dogpile!

Actually, I have a back problem that requires the "leaned forward" seating of a sporty bike. Cruisers and tourers kill me. I just traded my California for a V7 Classic because I couldn't take the seating position.

I know it's the opposite for most people...

I've heard that, sitting straight up kills some peoples backs. My Harley kinda wears on my back, the GS feels great to me.

Stranger passing through. Had some down time and read a bunch of pages here tonight. Quite entertaining. Glad you guys are getting some quality riding in. Seems like the only riding I have been doing has been work travel, although that has been several miles. Helps when it is roads like 59 to VB and 90 from SWC to Jane. I've put almost 4,000 miles on the GS since spring and loved every mile. Best all around bike I've ever owned. Had to go to Ames, IA last week for a couple of days and rode it. Pressed for time on the way up so I had to burn 4 lane fast. But on the way back plotted a back road route. Nice ride and got paid milage.

Even getting some miles on the DRZ I plated. Forgot how much fun a lightweight dirt bike can be on roads. Although I feel like I'm going to get pulled over every time I see a cop. Been 34 years since I was legal riding on hwy with a dirt bike.

First summer in a long time I've not made a trip through the Rockies this time of year, and the ride reports from CO made me homesick for them. Planning a trip this year through Deal's Gap area, Blue Ridge Parkway and down the Outer Banks in Sept. since we haven not trekked east in a long time.

Thanks for keeping us lurkers entertained.

So far it looks like you, me and Albie all have a similar problem and solution.

Last winter was milder than normal, but I rode more in January than in July this year.
