Exactly, the DR, and a KTM from the same year is also worth very little. Difference is one did not cost $15k new. Yeah I bought my DR for $1650, but it was probably $4k new in 98. A 98 KTM that cost over $10k is probably not worth the gas to go pick it up if you have to drive across town.

My Suzuki 650 has 25,000 miles and only cost has been tires and oil changes.....I'll replace it with a new one if it ever goes down, but I'm not holding my breath!

Hey, here's the picture of the duffus that ran off the road in front of us on the way to Leadville. I passed them in the ditch a while later. Note the right side of the truck is smashed up, the left was wrapped around a tree. I stopped and asked if they were all right and they hollered back "Fu$& Off". I took off laughing all the way.

Ditto! I got talked into racing a new one in 2002, worst year of racing I ever had! Freaking euro trash didn't turn or hold an inside line for chit. I've heard they've since fixed alot of the slow turning, but now its not very predictable as I've seen brand new EXC's go into violent headshake just cruising down dirt roads. My buddy got KO'ed on the pipeline at w rock, he didn't even see it coming.

Anybody that paid $10K for a KTM in '98 is got to be an even bigger retard. Now, back to the real world. I paid $8244 OTD for my 08 690. I could easily get $6500 for it today and I don't have $2K worth of goodies on it. My DR probably cost the original owner a tad over $5K new. So it's pretty obvious from MY financial calculations that only retard logic gets you to the calculation you have.

Sigh, my Suzuki 650 only needed tires (and lots of them) and oil changes up until 46K miles. Now, new con rod, bearings, valve seals, gasket kit, and a few other misc parts, but thankfully no labor costs.

Sweet, it's always fun to laugh at stupid. Guess you could see that was inevitable after the idiot spun out in fornt of us.
