Yes and the roads are tight and small and already have a ridiculously low speed limit on them. No point in going any slower, most of the town should be explored on foot anyways. And what get's me is when they're driving that slow down the main drag... there's nothing to see there!?! Why drive slow?

Back roads? I don't know any, I like the curves on 12 and 62 though, if you get lucky and make it to the front of the pack you can have TONS of fun out there.

Yep, like the back road from downtown to the Passion Play. My wife and I spend a lot of time deep in the residential areas, so many beautiful old homes with incredible architecture.

I had that problem in reverse on my sport bikes. In as little as 2500 miles the sides were shredded to cord but the middle looked new. If you saw the canyon rodes I hit every weekend back then (northern CA) you would see why. Top gears in the trans probably looked new too.

Baby girl had a fever this morning but seems ok now, and Vincent has a rash, and a low grade fever but seems ok. Marina took them to the doc and I rode my mtn. bike to the gym and worked out and got back home in time to take care of both them all day while she headed in late to work. They can go back to school tomorrow.

So I am on baby sitting duty all day, but at least I had a great ride today and a good workout. Temp was fall like this morning, particularly since I headed out an hour earlier than usual. Thunder got real loud hear for a bit last night, unsure of the rain total but we got some.

BTW I talked to the guy awards the jobs at my company. Says they are going to go straight by seniority from now on. Good for the company and retention I believe, but bad for me. I am more qualified than most of the guys coming up as mostly this is their first real part 135 job. Oh well, means I will be waiting till probably this time next year to get picked up for the S-76 if I am patient enough to stay that long.

Does give my time to get my ATP this winter and probably by the next fall maybe start working on a fixed wing instrument add on as a way to brush up on my IFR skills. We shall see, depends on money. Either way once I get that ATP with my hours I can whore myself out internationally if PHI don't do something for me before I burn out.

here is my kenda big block tire after 4300 miles on the rear of the GS.

99% pavement commuting, some interstate travel, been over 100 mph lots of times.

best tire I have had thus far on the rear, only the shinko 705 lasted longer.

Imagine they looked a lot like my track tires, except instead of 2500 miles we're talking one race day. One benefit to racing, I could use my race take offs on my street bikes. Talk about getting even wear!

Sto 2012

Speaking of Eureka Springs (which is loaded with back roads, but I'm not giving up secrets), for those of you who are also scooter geeks (and won't admit it...), Scooting the Ozarks (STO) is a month away, Sept 12-15. Rally headquarters is the Comfort Inn of the Ozarks. The rally forum has all the info: http://scoottheozarks.proboards.com/

The rally is just about the riding, and more riding. Attendees from 15 states already pre-registered.
This is my last year organizing this thing (yeah!!!).

Every now and again you have one of those moments of pure realization. I clicked that link and just had one. That pic had like 40 people in it and not one of them was under 50...

I'm not even an iota more embarrassed to ride a scooter than I already was!
