FYI, the Fallsville store has reopened, 7 to 7, 7 days a week, has regular unleaded, talked to them about carrying octane boost...

It pretty much is just leaning against the tree. The opening goes down the side of the hill. They did clean it up, though: See, they even added flowers and signs that say "Cover your poo" and "Keep the Time Machine Clean".
But I am not knocking it....it was welcome relief on our Harley run last month with my brother, daugther and nephew. The teeter-totter (see-saw?) picnic table was odd as heck to sit on as well. ![]()

I bet this is a sight to behold...

AUTUMN OPTIONS: All fall passenger trains leave from Springdale. The Springdale ticket holders are deboarded at Van Buren to spend the afternoon there. A Van Buren ticket batch of passengers is loaded at Van Buren and taken to Winslow and back. Once back at Van Buren, they are deboarded. The Springdale ticket holders are reloaded and taken back to Springdale. I sometimes am called upon to run one of these trains. If not, doubtful I can make it up to Springdale in time to ride the trip down. Van Buren - Winslow and return would be doable for me. I am unsure as to how many times per week the Fall Foliage trains run. I know the run on the Saturday. Scenery considerations: Trees typically still have their foliage on, so vista visibility is limited. Also, the water is low, so very little (if any) white water. WINTER TRAIN: Typically begins running the second week of January to the last of March. Saturday only. This train runs out of Fort Smith to Winslow and return to Fort Smith. I usually have to run this train. (I'm hoping they'll let me train someone else to share the schedule so I can have some Saturday's off.) Scenery considerations: Foliage is gone so the vistas can be seen (such as rock formations, etc). White water typically all along the route. Riding a train after (or during) a snow is spectacular. First thing: Decide what you all want to do. If you chose for an Autumn schedule, decide within a week or so, and once decision is made, I'll enquire as to what you all need to do. TC said: Quote:
IF we do Colorado, we'll likely be in the Silvertion area. It would be cool to meet up with you out there. As for easy passes: Don't know what you idea of easy is, so here's the ones I can think of we've 4WD'd (most several times): Imogene Pass Tomboy Road Corkscrew Gulch Engineer Mountain Engineer Pass Cimamon Pass Stoney Pass Ophir Pass Tincup Pass Alpine Tunnel ??? (Can't remember where all we've been. We've "done" Colorado since the early 90's.) In addition we've explored a ton of dead-ending trails in a 4WD. Where are the easy easy passes you're thinking of? As for riding a lot of dirt out in the Black Hills: Didn't see a lot of dirt options when there in 2010. Vinduroman

There seemed to be a gun fight South of here so I Took Red&Black to go see. PG lake gate was open, a newish car was backed up sorta hiding. about half way to the main gate which was standing open. Chug chugged on up to the water plant, one 4X4 new truck and a HERD of deer including a Buck. The deer ran off, no one ever came out and now the shots ( semi-pistol I think cause 10 -13 shots at a time ) seemed to be from S/W of the lake cl\ear across from me. Oh well, to nice to worry about it, nothing was slapping leaves as it zinged by me so I went splorin some more and doing 'on the move' mechanic work on Red&Black.
Tomorrow is Spots turn and the pick-up needs to go to the outpatient clinic and I need to check if the chain saw is healthy an get ready to bring kitties & .... I'm already tired just thinking about it..... Where did you bicycle riders get those 150 # pumps and the gizmo to keep from loosing the air from the tires when you disconnect? ![]() ![]()
