My wife took my girls to an Orthodontist, today for a consult. Looks like the out of pocket cost will be the equivalent of a new Super Tenere.

I feel your pain Nate...

Both my kids start phase 2, of braces after xmas, about $500 a month worth.

meanwhile, i have 6 cracked molars, that insurance refuses to help fix, saying they are only "cosmetic" issues.

I have honestly been tempted to ride to mexico spend a week, and have crowns put in.

Growing up close to the boarder a lot of people do that. The ones i knew that did it said good things about down there. Just wear a bullet proof vest down there. They love to shoot at people down there.

I'll have to use every once of wisdom, I can muster, to wade through the Orthodontist's BS, my wifes' fears, my kids' wishes and my acceptable level of personal sacrifice. Somewhere in the middle, I'll identify what they actually need and then make a decision. But it's pretty clear that some long teeth are about to suck dry my moto money...

It is like the FAA. As soon as they suspect some pilot somewhere might be gaining a full understanding of all the rules, they change them. As they saying goes. Were not happy unless your not happy.
