Thanks guys for all the info. I gave them a call. They said you go down there take the test and get a permit. The permit is good for one year. During that year you have to go back and do the skills test. I asked the guy what that is. He said it is very easy and they do it in the parking lot.

Having a CDL and using my license for work it would not be good to get pulled over without one. Right now trying to find work its nice having a clean record. It will be nice to have a street legal bike and license. Not sure what i will do feeling so free on the road.

The test isn't hard if you are using common sense, but some of the questions will try and trick you. I took an MSF course so I didn't do the riding portion.

I stopped in state police headquarters yesterday. Trooper said you take the written test and then after 30 days and up to 6 months you come back and take the skills test. He also said that now you can ride your bike up there to take the test. You don't have to trailer it or have someone else ride it anymore.

Yeah, close. You also get a discount on insurance if you take it.

I Got just the basic insurance. it was $75 a year. Any of you guys that dont have the nice fancy bikes have more then the basic insurance on the bill?
