Since I didn't ride today, I worked out at the fitness center. Three days a week now. I expect to be dead lifting the DRZ (or be dead) soon.

Nope. Had no way of applying pressure (I used vac on nipple to bleed) and had no idea what would happen if I took it all the way out. I figure the fluid would come out and would air go in, right?

yeah pretty much, another person holding steady pressure on the pedal until it went to the floor, would have bought you a few seconds to remove bleed screw, and likely clear the obstruction.
jab the brakes pretty good the next time you drive it, if it pulls or one locks before the other, let us get it evened out in front. Not much scarier on wet roads, than ONE locked front wheel.. haha of course, the slower you drive, the less of an issue this becomes. like the guy telling fletch, if you want to stop, you have to think ahead

thats true , but ive owned and driven my share of ford trucks, they are lucky to be steerable and controllable when they drive off the lot.

I don't pay, my wife has her office there. A family membership is one of the perks.

I bought this truck new in 89. Other than 2 AC compressors (o-rings), I have had zero issues. I had maintained it well. My 2001 replacement, same deal, not a hitch. Maybe lucky, but I'll stick with 'em.

![]() Got the dirt wheels back on the 690 and got the DR tapped and the big heli-coil installed. Gonna let the locktite cure overnight and then put the 8mm insert in and see if it will all hold. I actually took a tiny chunk out of the exhaust flange on the head when I was tapping it out. Just hope I can get the header to seal, if not I guess I'll be replacing the damn head.
