Needless to say, the carbs on XRs are very finicky. Though it's a total pain to do so, I'd suggest taking the carb off the bike again, thoroughly cleaning it again...using plenty of high pressure compressed air to make sure every minuscule bit of dirt is out of every passageway...then resetting it exactly to the factory specs. When you go to start it be sure to not even touch the throttle. If your bike is like most XRs, even a touch of throttle will flood it. I'm sorry if you know all this and i'm coming off like a jerk. I'm not trying to talk down to you, but I remember learning the hard way about my XR, which is probably one of the reasons I love my WRR so much. -JD

I'm focused on an 09 Multistrada 1100 or a new 2013 Hypermotard. I have the green light from the wife but I have to add on to my house this year, so that will be a factor. I had a chance to trade the WR250X for an '06 Buell Uly, last weekend but I've got the hots for Ducati and passed up the trade. I'll be focused on selling/trading the WR250X, within the next few weeks.
Are you planning to attend the C/R, here in a few weeks? nlp

OK, just because I'm taking pity on ya, I'll give ya $100 for it, right now. (A lot of XRs get sold that way.)

Albie sighting
So I heard a thumper headed down the street, looked up and lo and behold Albie rode past. Since I live on a dead end street I knew he'd be back past the house so I waved him down to give him some grief. Seems he was out searching for a tag Mouth posted, just enjoying the latter part of the day after already hitting Oark. Good to see you Albie!

Yeah, I just looked at your tag and was thinking the same thing. Guess he should read your comment more closely. I'm kind of tempted to go there and beat him to the pic.
