The OK side of the Talimena has recently redone in chip & seal. They used BIG pieces of rock for the chip part. Be careful.

Mounted and balance my tire on my sexy new wheel, went for a ride realized the bead hadn't sealed, spent the rest of the afternoon trying to get the stupid bead seated. Massive frustration. Took the tire off again, got it seated, rebalanced the tire, drank beer. One of those days when a 30 minute job turns into an all day affair. Bright side: got my oil leak fixed! 49 cent o ring from the hardware store

That was my first tire change, only took about 10-15 mins so it wasn't too bad. I didn't balance it though and it definitely needs it over 60mph. Guess ill take care of that after the trip.

It rained...

like a cow peeing on a flat rock last night.

Glad we were in the car and not on the bike.

Magoo -please tell me that the Tawny Crazy ants are not expected to make it to Arkansas.

They sound worse than the fire ants

Well hell, thought I got off without any damage when I crashed on the bridge. Turns out I broke the side panel. Didn't notice it until today when I pulled off the saddle bags. Oh well, only $75 for the whole fender/side panel piece. Hell that's no more then just one side cover for the damn DR.

Cant you spray some carb cleaner on the broken surface and stick it back together. Super fine grit sandpaper to buff the joint. Costs less than a nickle.
