Also a rock ledge halfway up that is larger on the left ( hill side) than the right (drop off side) ? I think that is on the blue loop.

If I remember they blocked off the hill on the pipeline we used to call the Widow-maker. That was fun!

Chicago

Chicago is one of the few places I would rather be in a car or a tank even better to drive around. I try to stay away from the mistake on the lake if at all possible. I had to work in LA for a few years, that put a whole new meaning to life in the fast lane. 40 miles across and figure 3 hours to make it across town.

Sorry you are getting wet Ojay but we really need the rain here. If you catch the wrong road and wind up west let me know.

I think I may have possibly been going the opposite way. I started out heading north, taking the course clockwise. I will attempt it again, but next time I will go the opposite way so I don't have to make that hill climb again.
Dood, let me know the next time you go out there. I love that place, but it really isn't meant for solo riders on KLRs. And I am available during the week.

P.S.: I'll be on my KDX, which weighs about half of your KLR.

Kelly is staying home this year, to take care of Mom, so I am truck-pooling with a friend from Siloam. There is room for one more.

Anybody else going?
Very interested

I dont remember the context, but she was a nice girl, and I believe her.

Looking for some sort of small camp axe/hatchet myself.

something to help process firewood while in the backcountry..

most of the ones im seeing are too light to really do much good.

I looked it up. That's good for unlimited kitchen passes for one year.
Matt, Bass Pro has a SOG hatchet/saw/knife trio on sale for $50. Looks like a good setup.

Tim, I showed Kathe your post. I had no idea she could laugh that loud, that long.

no thanks,t until I can see it, im unsure.

Most of those hatchet/axe things are way too light to be useful to me.

Im still searching.

I can always do an estwing, or coleman camp hatchet, the cheap route.

I won't be there this week—damn trips out to Colorado to ride motorcycles—but yes, let's come up with a plan. I missed this last year and would really like to make it this time.
