Looks like a pretty good deal. I honestly wouldn't mind a fly and ride, but I have zero time between now and mid-November to get away from work. Trying to look within the 300-400 mile range so I could make a long day or weekend trip of it.

I must have missed it...what kind of bike are you looking for? Big bike/little bike/more dirt/street?

Looking for a DS in the 650 range. KLR, F650GS, and even the DR650 (even though I said no previously), maybe even the Honda NC700X even though it's not really a DS. Possibly a Versys or Vstrom 650. Who knows. I'll definitely be doing more more street/dirt roads than trails/off road.

Mouth seems to think I need at least 1000cc to be happy though

I've seen that one on there. If I go that route I want something a little newer and a few less miles. And I don't know if I could handle the colors, I don't know what people were thinking in the 90's

Man, that's a smoking deal. And it's not half way across the country either.

On the DR's the major change was in 96, so any of them from '96 till now are virtually the same.

Pay for the fly, gas and lodging and I'll ride your "new to you" bike back here. Where else you gonna get that kind of deal.

So im riding home from work.

a car is making a left turn against a line of traffic, stops the entire lane that I am in.

I am following a school bus, bus stops im still in the intersection, I pretty much have to look straight up to see the light.

I watch it turn yellow.

not wanting to be between 4 lanes of traffic coming from both ways, I pick a route up on the side walk, then a little throttle blip and a jump off the curb into a parking lot.

slowly cruise about 60 feet going the wrong way, and then enter the lane a couple of car lengths ahead of the cars that were in front of the bus.

Bike > car

My son took his GF home from school, he is coming back via wedington road at 4pm-ish

he says cruising at 48mph, opposing lanes totally blocked, and one opening and a car darts thu the opening, out in front of him, and misses the turn in for shopping plaza, so the lady in her car is perfectly perpendicular across both lanes of traffic, up against the curb, and the opening she came through closes up.

son says he engaged emergency brake, tried for 1st gear but couldnt find it, caught second gear dumped the clutch, and got on the brakes as hard as he could.

tires howled, smoked, and the truck bucked and bounced as he struggled to keep it in his lane.

he stopped about 4 feet from the lady's passenger door.

He finds first gear, goes up on the sidewalk to the right ( in front of her) goes around her, and yelled some nasty vile things at her while flipping her off.

I praised his attentiveness, and explained its hard to steer a 4 wheeled vehicle with the rear wheels locked up.

He was amazed, and dumbfounded, because he said the woman was throwing her arms in the air and fussing at him.

I said " Son it happens all the time, welcome to traffic."

Seems to be a trend these days. Some asswipe makes some head up the ass move then acts like a douche when you call them out on it. It appears that being a dumbass isn't embarrassing to them anymore.
