I am glad I took my jacket off, and left it on the bike.

Pics in a minute. Exhausted battery at the first site, switched to back up camera (lesson learned prior) and that battery died. Luckily as the last picture was snapped at the new tag.

Well, the glare from the flashlight makes the contrast more extreme. It was dark, but it wasn't pitch black. Unfortunately, the built-in flash on my camera no longer works. I am hopeful that it's simply a matter of replacing the bulb. In the meantime, I'm using a flashlight and the headlight or any available ambient light, which means night-time scavenger hunt photo-ops are a tad more complicated.

I was in Gaithersburg at 4:45 and was thinking of making the trek around the beltway to go for it.

Instead I decided to do some two up riding on the way home.

Wife thought it would fit in the trunk!

Went down by the river to cool off and watch some birds (big ones).

Planes were landing to the south tonight.

Use caution fellow advers, there is a gravely point where I almost went down hard as I was getting off of the north bound ramp.

One can watch birds but not fly kites.

To the left of my wheel where the gate contects to the post Ali is hiding.

I wonder if that gate is used often. We lost a rubber snake like that in the Valley tag. We still don't know if we caused a heart attack or not . Probably not an issue the way you all turn the tags around .

Good point....I don't want to be the person responsible for the gator's demise. Someone get on your bike and go get it right now.

Done.

Unfortunately, I cannot post photos until tomorrow a.m.; however, I'll provide some clues that will make Alli's new location painfully obvious to anyone who's been paying attention lately.

So, I'm 2 for 2 at Gravelly Point. It was so close and I am wide awake, so I decided to make the run.

I'll freely admit that being on, what I believe is, Federal property when it is "closed" and watching the police roll by, wondering if they're coming back for me, caused just a little perspiration.

So more grainy night-time shots to be posted tomorrow.
Grab shot:

Tag shot:

Clue photos:

Just before the bridge (in case any dual-sport riders were considering beginning at the other location):

Once the photos are posted, then it will be a breeze. However, as I mentioned above, you won't need any photos to find her, if you've been paying attention recently or are willing to do a little research.

So I made another grab recently (not to worry, all, most of us are well behind our fearless tag leaders - Elk and Mica). Anyhow, this particular grab was yet another evening sortie. Alli is currently sitting at the other end of that tag's location. Again, this will make sense if you've been paying attention.

So, to find her, go to this site (again, the terminus of one of the previous tag locations) and look for a similar sign to the one from this prior tag. About 20 feet beyond this sign, there is a foot bridge. Look to the right front edge and you will find her hiding under a disposable (and unfortunately, an improperly disposed of) cup lid. If you play your Billy-goat gruff role properly, she may let you pass (and then join you for a ride to the next tag).

FWIW, I'll try to check the map next time. I now see that we've been to both Woodlawn (Tag #91) AND Pope-Leighey House (Tag #113).

Me too (#67), I was thinking that was the Virginia T_O_R.

Or expand the boundaries to include Frederick, Rappahannock, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Madison, Stafford and Culpepper.

Then it would in fact be the NOVA TOR and it would add some challenge to going and grabbing it and taking it somewhere further than Manassas to Mount Vernon.....

At least you simply confused the games. That's got to count for something. I didn't even look.

Going along 95 for some of the other tag sites, I noticed the Pope-Leighey signs and thought "that would make a great tag location." Clearly, someone else (Elk) beat me to it.

Hmmm. Perhaps we make it a bit more challenging, too. Take a photo of the tag location, as usual, but make sure that it's different from the previous tag shot from that location. Then, with the minimum of clues, if any, see who can figure out the location.

Looking at the map last night, I realized that we still have a few untagged areas (read: wide open) within our boundaries, but there aren't many roads or tag spots in those areas. Some overlap may be inevitable.
