4) While you're in the area, be sure to sample these roads: Beach Mill, Seneca, Georgetown Pike. You won't be disappointed.
Ummm, how about I just meet you there, say 7:30 AM and save you the trouble of having to take a picture and then run home to post? Ha Ha!

The more the merrier. I'll probably be there around 8:00. If there's another ToR player there, I'll just hand you the shoe and you can take it to it's next destination (of your choice!)

Okay - that's not fair! I'm down in FL for two weeks and you guys leave a tag I could practically walk to from my house. I keep trying to convince my neighbors we need to call this area "West Clifton" so it will bring up the property values. That darn Yates Ford Bridge costs us a couple hundred grand in property values. Well, it's either that bridge or the schools. Probably the bridge

Oh, Yeah..
OK so bacon won out over bridges (this time)
Here are the clues, contained in the below little ditty.. words may not be in the right order but there is enough to figure out where its at with a little effort...

Bacon Racing’? Who’da Thunk!
Conceived no doubt by some Clifton drunk!
But yes, indeed, I kid you knot;
‘Tis eight miles past, in a Quiet spot.

Tread softly please as forth you see(k)
The shoe of the horse I placed for Thee.
There’s a Pile of Stones quite evident;
From a time when such shoes
Were quite prevalent!

A man named Davis once had a Ford
But he traded it for a piece of Road!
Next to said pile, just to the right
It lies in wait and in plain sight.

And they’re off! The Race for the Bacon has begun!

New Tag

Clues:

1) Fairfax County
2) It's next to the River that separates the Old Dominion from the Free State.
3) It's next to a Bend in the river where there's a park.
4) While you're in the area, be sure to sample these roads: Beach Mill, Seneca, Georgetown Pike. You won't be disappointed.

Warning: The tag is not accessible after 8:00 PM!

The horseshoe is under the dugout treetrunk (canoe?) on the left, the end closest to the parking lot.

Enjoy!

Suggested "rule"

It can be a little confusing to us simple-minded folks when people quote a previous post that includes picture. It can mess with the flow of the tag-grab-tag-grab thing.

May I suggest that if you are going to quote a previous post, delete any pictures in the quote before hitting "submit".

Ahhhh

I can't see the pictures. And, I am coming home tomorrow! I get the "No URL" message. Can you re-post these or am I the only one?

I don't see any pictures with the last tag either and don't even see the img tag in the post at all (when I "quote" it). No fair, gotta have pictures of the tag.

Grab?

Well, it was a nice ride and great weather. But there was no shoe, I only found this.

I have either been Bruced Or someone else took it. Anyone?

BTW the pics worked this morning, so I tried to remember the exact place, I hope this is close.

Sorry guys. I screwed up. The links were fine when I posted this morning, but a change I made on my photo hosting site later hosed the links. They should be ok now.

But dude, lighten up! Are you going to participate in the Nova ToR, or just sit on the sidelines and bitch?

Yes, you had the right grab. I left the horseshoe under the leftmost dugout tree trunk (as you're facing the river). It was on the parking lot side of the log. Is that where you looked?

Oh well Steve. Looks like you get to pick what the next mascot/cache will be. Still can't believe some a-hole messed with the horseshoe for craps sake!
