Cody was getting a little nervous with all the gun fire down the road so grabbed him and will have to find another resting area for him later on this evening.

Cody and I found him some quite near a dog park off of Old Lee Rd far from the guns shots near his last resting spot. The dog park is located off of Old Lee Rd and pictures below should be enough to locate him.

If you try to grab him on Saturday, May 7, be careful--you may get your hand stomped by the crowd attending a commomerative American history event that began, 150 years ago.

Cody reposes now on Fairfax's [Event] Interpretive Center.

He asked, "Why must I stay here at the Big House? Why can't I go to Grandma's Cottage? It says here, 'Also on the grounds is Grandma's Cottage, which dates to c. 1840. It was occupied for much of its history by Margaret Conn Willcoxon Farr, the daughter of Rezin Willcoxon, owner of the Willcoxon estate.'"

"Sorry, Cody," I told him, "The Big Bad Wolf owns the franchise for Grandma's Cottage."

Thought I'd check on Cody; he emerges from his hiding place under the porch:



"You wouldn't BELIEVE how many people came here yesterday," he said, "1200!"

Then, he bagan to sing, "Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag, that bears a single star!"

"At least, you paid attention to your visitors," I said.

Cody retired back to his hiding place:



Thought a few more visual clues might inspire someone to come and evacuate Cody.

I knocked; figure in gown appeared at the door, "What big eyes you have, Grandma," I exclaimed.

"The better to see you with, my dear . . . "

And . . . you won't believe it, and I have no proof, but . . . facility was closed; curator lady said she was locking the gate, but could I get out through the path?

I told her, I thought so . . . then she remembered, she had to leave the gate open for the contractor coming to fetch the folding chairs and tables for yesterday's celebration; told me I'd have no problem exiting.

Then, as happened to me at the Meadows off Old Colchester Road on a previous grab (# 435), a stunningly beautiful young lady drove up to where I parked my bike in the deserted parking lot . . . she said she'd grown up in Fairfax, but was unaware of the facility, 'til she saw the "Historic" sign from the road . . . I filled her in on what I had learned about Fairfax City's purchase of the property for its Interpretive Center (in '98, I think), and directed her to the house where Cody now dwells, and the path to Grandma's Cottage. She disappeared down that path, into the twilight; I cranked up the bike an wended my way home . . .

No, I don't expect you to BELIEVE me this time, either! If I'm hallucinating, may my hallucinations continue!

Historic House Opens To Public


A Fairfax City historic house, one of the few with extensive, intact Civil War graffiti, is open to the public. During the war, the house was occupied by federal troops who left behind more than 100 signatures, pieces of poetry and art on the walls all of which have been preserved. Admission is free.

The house and 12 acres was purchased for preservation by the City of Fairfax in 1999 and has added the new 3,800 square-foot interpretive center.

As mentioned, the site sits on a major roadway with a name very similar to the previous tag's; the location is very near the center of the City of Fairfax (the 12 acres and 3,800 square-foot interpretive center are not camouflaged); and obvous signage announces the HISTORIC attraction from the roadway; you can hardly miss it!

"Stealth" interpretive center in the City of Fairfax, VA, on Old Lee Street? Lane? Throughway? Parkway? Turnpike? Path? Court? Or, "other?"



Oh, yes. One more thing, thestructured. If you identify the roadway of Cody's current address, but cannot pinpoint his location still, you may be disregarding HERITAGE.

In my case, more often in dreams, surely, but--twice, when fully conscious, on grab-and-tag missions!

Hope someone grabs Cody soon; I'm expecting a bill for his RENT from the Fairfax City curator!
