No biggie, but . . . according to Google Maps, Route 55 is common to both I-66 and Route 17 at that point, while Grove Lane (aka County Road T185), the site of the historical marker, runs parallel to and north of the 55/66/17 divided highway.

New tag!

Here's Ali with the cigar tube next to the roots of this large tree...

What's up with the cigar tube anyway?

Now she's covered up...

Next to this group of vines...

From the other side looking back...

A look up the road...That mountain in the background looks like a big Cobbler!

A look down the road...

Ali said she was tired of leading a prim and proper lifestyle hiding in the leaves and wanted to kick up her paws and get a little wild. So I took her to a building where they squeeze a little corn. It also happens to share the same name as the two syllable road she is on.
She is such a lush. See how she is eying the jar?

Here's what she is probably doing right now...

which reminds me...

The tube's purpose, originally, was to mark the location where Ali was hidden, for the convenience of the searcher. A bit of roadside debris, an expendable item of no particular value, the tube only pin-pointed Ali's resting place within a confusing jumble of vegetation. However, when you camouflage both Ali and the tube . . .

The tube's totally optional to future taggers; no visual clue may be useful in other locations, and alternate and better ones may be available locally if they are.

You don't want to make it too easy to find the tag.

Photobucket

I'm not smart enough to use photoshop, but photobucket has some simple tools that let you paint over signs or license plates, etc. IIRC they're under "edit," then "decorate." I'm kind of computer-stupid, so I figure it can't be too hard if I can do it!

Some of these folks in the forum are real techno-geeks; I admire their knowledge and keyboard skills, but I shore ain't got 'em.
