SteelB12, my regrets that this consideration isn't helpful to you; that was my intent.

Ain't gonna say no more; that would be TELLING!

I was pondering on the additional clue and what it might mean (as I already figured out where Ali is at), but my mental aptitude was being hampered by the superfluous posting. So I disregarded the posting. But had a hard time with IIRC as I couldn't recall what it stood for.

IIRC = "If I Remember (or Recall) Correctly." Of course, I'm one to talk, having a severe case of CRS. (Can't Remember Shit).

Did you look under the piece of bark that I can see just off of the left tip of your windshield in the photo??

Yes. A fellow tagger was kind enough to replace it, causing me to get off the bike for a "dismount Bruce." I'm betting Stalin. He's due for a grab, and processes pics at Fotomat. . ..

Your tag pic:

You can tell the bark has been disturbed:

At least, I can now attempt dispelling the fog of my previous vague and obscure comment!

Observe:

Signage notes recent re-numbering of the Fairfax County Parkway, from 7100 (sum of digits, 8) to 286 (sum of digits, 16).

ORexpat's tag post (# 8567 above) provides the clue: Sum of road number digits equal 16. True, but only for the late-breaking NEW roadway number (286), the old number's digits equal 8 (from 7100).

The RED HERRING? Pursuit of road number digits equalling 16, while harboring the obsolete knowledge of 7100 as the Fairfax County Parkway's numerical designation.

But WHY was this change made?

A sophisticated and knowledgeable forum member (username upon request) told me, this sign is significant in the answer:

He said, Obama stimulus money was allocated only to roadways with THREE (3) digits, not four.

Thus, Route 7100 became Route 286.

after seeing Orexpat with all his little notes, ive gone to keeping a pad and paper in my tail bag, even though ive been out of grabing and taging for a bit. lots of uses for such things.

and after seeing the tag photos, i realized i drive by there at least 3 times a week, some times 3 times a day. always in the work truck though

Fine, thfraser, as long as the sum of the digits in "7100" add up to 16, comporting with ORexpat's clue!

Neat info, glad to see our recovery dollars are being well spent. I especially appreciate the plethora of edge traps that have sprung up on our area's roads. That being said, there is a holiday approaching.

Who grabbed Ali?

All you have to do is double the result of 7+1 = 8. the 00 is just like double "O", so double it! and walla, you have 16! See fuzzy furry logic math does work. Just don't tell your kids, it doesn't work on multiple guess tests.
