I did not. I had to get home in a rapid fashion, so no time to rescue the gator.

Not sure how you guys play your game? Seem open to a guess? So I will ask, does the route #s this is on add up to 16?

Usually pm the tagger, who can then make the answer public.

But yes, yes the route numbers do. Well done!

As I mentioned, google streets will be your friend, you can see the tag spot there.

Post with additional clue to follow.

So, out of loyalty to the game, we milled about for a bit, and saw some neat fencing:

And then hid Ali where pictured in the tag shots above.
If the name of the lane isn't obvious from my post, check post 6268. You'll love it!

Google Streets will be your friend. Happy tagging!

(Standard Disclaimer: note road condition -- this tag is very KLR and SB12 friendly).
To clear up any confusion I created, these last two shots go to the "clue", not the tag. The tag shots are above them. And yes, the route number totals 16.

Bonus clue:

Here's a conversation I overheard this morning in Starbucks:

Mr. Red: Did you see the latest tag?

Mr. Herring: Yes, yes I did.

Mr. Red: Did you see that the clue was only for the "name" of the lane?

Mr. Herring: Why yes, yes I did.

Mr. Red: Do you think it is possible for there to be two gravel paths in the NoVa Tag boundaries with the same name?

Mr. Herring: Why yes, yes I do.

Mr. Red: If that's true than we know what this tag is, don't we.

Mr. Herring: You first.

Mr. Red: It's a "Red"

Mr. Herring: "Herring".

Happy Tagging!

Excellent bonus clue - that helped me figure it out.

Can't get there before sometime tomorrow though so it's wide open!

But apparently not much. 26 hours post tag, 9 hours post bonus clue, Ali still sits. . ..

I'll start tagging gas stations. The next will be a Sheetz on Route 15. The road number will total 6.

Yeah, what did I say in the other forum about cryptic clues being more work than fun? Glad I didn't head out to grab it last night, would've come back even more frustrated.

Glad to see you back. No worries, red herrings are tough. OGs have used them, and they seem to work well. Perhaps this one was difficult, though a new guy got it without the bonus clue. I fully expect you will be able to get my next tag.

FWIW, what you don't see are the xx pms saying great tag.

Well, I for one appreciate the work you (ok, all y'all) do to make those cryptic clues. One of my favorites was this one. I didn't place it, didn't grab it, but truly enjoyed finding it. I was totally fooled on the Featherbed Lane tag, but was one of the xx PMs to congratulate the tagger. I don't find all of them, but it's nice to be able to have a few to search for when I've got time to sit at the computer, but not time to ride.

Leon.

My next NoVA tag will be identified by the numbers 1969 and 225.
