G2K has the tablet, so no grab pic. Must have left it on the ride after packing to depart, and G2K found it when he went for the grab. Thanks.

Timing is everything.

Grab pic added (who knew tablets could bounce down a roadway and still work?):

Labor Day Tag

Tag: no pic, G2K has the tablet.

I headed back towards town after making the grab. As I was waiting to cross braddock off the beltway exit, I saw the vee' distinctive light pattern pass by. I caught up, G2K was bound and determined to ride on. I turned around and went to place the tag, but soon realized i had no tablet. I retraced my route, and when I didn't find it, hoped G2K had grabbed it. He did.

Now, for the clue. Today is Labor Day. I found a building that has something to do with labor directly off Braddock Road and the Beltway. You could find it by Port Royal, too. The building has the phrase "National Right to Work" across the beltway side of the building. If you ride to that side of the building, look at the base of the building under the "k" in the sign. You'll see a little stone bench, a crepe myrtle (in nice bloom) to the right of the bench, and a small ground cover fern to the right of the crepe myrtle. You'll find Ali hidden beneath the fern ground cover, marked by an "x".

Happy Tagging!

I had an early conference call, so was getting my riding done before first light. Very calm, no traffic, only saw one forest rat. May have been more, but only saw one.

Still can't believe I crossed paths with G2K at my first effort to place the tag, and then he found my tablet in the roadway after the Bruce. I think he was more than a bit surprised when I chased him down -- it was a bit early and he had no idea who I was. He kept going . . .. Perhaps I should have waived Ali.

In my defense, it was six-crazy-oclock, it was dark, and I thought that the unknown rider to my left was attempting to initiate some sort of competition (Braddock road being empty at the time)!

Sadly, I did not recognize the international hand signs for "Hey geoff2k, it's Nova! I can help you avoid a bruce if you just follow me!"

THAT I would have recognized!

In any event, the tablet has been returned, I got a nice ride out of the morning and I learned that when faced with this:

I need to just turn back instead of proceeding halfway and starting to sink into the mud where the gravel ends (note the muddy tire track).

And now, even though Ali is less than a mile from my house, my kitchen pass has expired...

Ali was still there at noon. . .. Perhaps a bicycle grab is in order?

New Tag

See if you can guess where I went...I did 106 miles on the grab and tag.

Anyhoo, after all of that work Ali had the right to do, he was a bit tired and wanted to nap. Ali likes napping in bushes, but I'll bet you didn't know he is kinda afraid of the dark. So, I decided to put him somewhere reasonably well lit (not well enough for me to get decent photos).

We rode westwards and some people believe this spot to be the "Gateway to Purcellville", though by the name of road upon which we traveled, I thought we were headed for my favorite city in the world, the capital of Germany. Turns out I am on the wrong brand of motorcycle. I think Patrick Henry said it best "Harris, don't Teeter on the fence, you may fall off".

Google Foo and Bing will be of no use to you in this quest. I just checked and the sat photos are outdated.

Now, onto the photos:

Ali is under a bush in front of this sign

Random photos to help you place the tag:

This is looking across the street

If you can figure out the road I took, you wont need google maps to find the tag.

EDIT: Bing aerial view might just help you with this. Bird's eye will not
